SOL Tests and Exam Exemptions
SOL testing season is approaching quickly. This year will be slightly different than past years as not every student will be taking a SOL test as the Virginia Department of Education has given new guidance that requires students to only take SOL tests that are required for graduation. This will impact our exam exemption procedures that have been used in past years. In any SOL classes where students would have previously been exempt by passing the SOL test, our teachers will be providing alternative methods for exam exemptions or early exams to allow students to re-assess during theexam window. This will take on different forms and you can reach out to your student’s teacher if you have questions about how exam exemptions will be implemented in your student’s classroom.
