Reminder - Registration for 2024-2025 School Year
Online student registration for the 2024-2025 school year is now open. The year ahead brings many new and exciting initiatives to District 15! One such something new is that this is the first year we will offer FULL-DAY KINDERGARTEN for every student. Additionally, many of our schools are undergoing construction which will be completed for the upcoming school year, AND our 6th graders will join their adolescent peers in our newly restructured middle schools.
The first day of school for the 2024-2025 school year is Thursday, September 5 for grades 1-8 and Friday, September 6 for kindergarten and early childhood students.
Please visit our registration page to begin registering your child(ren) for school. Doing so helps us solidify staffing for our schools, allows your child(ren) to be placed on a class list, and allows your child(ren) to ride a bus to and from school. Registration MUST be completed and student fees must be paid by July 1, 2024. With close to 12,000 students to place in a classroom and on bus routes, we ask that you please do your part and register on or before July 1.
We want to hear from you!
You have been invited to complete the Illinois 5Essentials Parent Survey. The information you provide will help guide improvement as we strive to inspire each student to realize their potential. Your participation in this survey is voluntary but crucial. We can’t receive results from the survey unless at least 20 percent of parents respond. The more responses parents provide, the more we will know how to focus our efforts toward the improvements you want. Please help us reach our goal by completing the survey.
2024 Illinois Parent Survey
- Link to survey: http://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/survey/parent/
· Select “Parent Survey.”
· You may enter your email address if you would like to receive confirmation of your submission, but it is not required.
· Then enter “Cook” into the county field and “Carl Sandburg” to find our school. Be sure to select Carl Sandburg Junior High at 2600 Martin Lane in Rolling Meadows.
You will then be asked a series of questions to provide input regarding your family’s experience here at Carl Sandburg. Please remember to click “submit” once you are done so your responses can be counted.
Please know that your identity and responses will be kept confidential and will not be connected with your child. If you have multiple children who attend Sandburg, you may complete one survey for each child. However, only one parent per household may submit a survey for a given child. The survey closes in March, so please submit your responses soon!
Thank you in advance for your time and input. We appreciate you!
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact 5Essentials Customer Support at 1-866-440-1874 or 5essentials@uchicago.edu.

Boys Volleyball at the Palatine Park District
Palatine Park District & CCSD15 have partnered to proudly present you a new volleyball league geared towards boys in junior high (7th-8th grade). Tryouts are required to participate in this program. Each junior high school will have one team at each grade level, with coaches from that school. Practices and games will be held at the Palatine Park District Community Center Gym. Registration deadline is Friday, March 1, 2024.
Reminder- Spectators at Away Games
We realize that the Junior High athletic events are fun to attend and we have enjoyed having spectators come to the games. If students choose to attend away games at Plum Grove, Sundling, or Winston Campus, it's expected that a parent comes with the students to the basketball game and stays the entire time.
The CHAMPS expectations for spectator behavior are the same at each school in our district. Please remember you are a representative of our school when visiting another school.
Students, from another school, who come in without a parent or guardian will not be permitted to attend the game.
