Summary:

Both are Very similar they both are for profit, they manufactor goods, but they are very different also,Mercantilism is based on and follows European laws, power of anything was based on wealth and they used gold/silver. Capitalism is privately owned, they used big financial agencies like banks, and the stock exchange. Capitalism is more for current times and Mercantilism was a way of the past although capitalism was based on mercantilism.

WHAT IS CAPITALISM

Capitalism is a social system based on individual rights. Politically, it is the system of freedom. Legally it is a system of objective laws (rule of law as opposed to rule of man). Economically, when such freedom is applied to the sphere of production its result is the free-market. It is private you can do what you want you can collect import or export as much as the owner you want.

WHAT WAS MERCANTILISM?

Mercantilism was an economic theory and practice, dominant in Europe from the 16th to the 18th century, that promoted governmental regulation of a nation's economy for the purpose of augmenting state power at the expense of rival national powers. Mercantilism was the way Europeans wanted to make money they wanted to export more than import so they could collect all the gold.

COLUMBIAN EXCHANGE VS INTERNET

The Columbian Exchange: Crash Course World History #23

WHAT IS THE COLUMBIAN EXCHANGE?

The Columbian exchange was named after Christopher Columbus it started an early trading partnership in Europe and the Americas. The Columbian exchange helped increase production of food because growing food became cheaper. foods like corn, and potatoes.

WHAT DID THE COLUMBIAN EXCHANGE CAUSE?

The columbian exchange caused the collapse of indian nations because of disease like smallpox they brought from Europe. It also introduced people to slave trading know as the Transatlantic slave trade. The conditions they were in because their immune systems to shut down especially all those disease the old world people brought. The lack of space they were kept in caused it to spread faster.

INTERNET HISTORY

The Internet is at once a world-wide broadcasting capability, a mechanism for information, circulation, and a medium for collaboration and interaction between individuals and their computers without regard for geographic location.

COMPARE AND CONTRAST FOR INTERNET NOW AND COLUMBIAN EXCHANGE

COLUMBIAN EXCHANGE:

  • Exchange of animals, plants, and diseases
  • Destroyed native americans lives
  • Native americans trade with Europeans new world-France-Spain-England
  • Cargo boat, water
  • Slavery

INTERNET:

  • Free non contact everywhere
  • Ships on air/road

BOTH:

  • Trade/buy
  • Money
  • Profit
  • Resources
  • Price
  • Trade with other countries
  • Manufacturing goods

Summary:

The Columbian Exchange was trade of plants, animals, and diseases yes disease spread -ded easily. The new way the Internet has more than the Exchange it has everything and it got rid of transferring of diseases and slaves. Even trade is still allowed on the new way of doing things. Internet is a much better an safer way of trading/ making purchases. The internet basically runs itself with the information it has and all you can do on it.

SO WHAT ?

What me and my partner learned about all this is that The Columbian exchange possibly brought the idea of a newer and better way to sell/trade things which is the internet. The internet lets you access lots of information and to buy sell from one place. Also they slave trade was stopped not just because they died but things started getting done differently way after this but it brought slavery to the new world for a long time. We also learned how Capitalism was formed a better and newer way of mercantilism but ran differently. Mercantilism was a thought of selling more than buying to keep adding up money.

NOW WHAT?

I can use the information I have learned to use the internet I know how it was formed and I will apply the skill of using it to buy and trade/sell things and If i ever decide to become an entrepreneur I will obviously use capitalism.
