Yearbook Distribution

Yearbooks have arrived. Yearbooks can be picked up at the front of the school between 12:00 and 2:00 pm Monday through Thursday of next week.


If you want to purchase a yearbook from last year, they are $25 on a first come first serve basis. Please bring cash or a check made out to Eastin Elementary. Exact change is VERY helpful.

English Learner Advisory Committeel - Parent Nominations Needed!

Join our community and share your voice!


The best way to help with improving academic performance is to be involved.


Purpose of the committee: Provide written recommendations to the School Site Council (SSC) regarding programs and services for English Learner (EL) students. Recommendations should be based on student performance and parental involvement data.


All ELAC officers must be parents of EL students or RFEP students (for up to four years after reclassification)


ELAC officers can not be employed by the District


Officers cannot serve at two schools during the same school year. Any second designation is null and void.


We will hold elections electronically during Back to School night. The deadline for nominations is Wednesday, September 2, 2020. If you have any questions, please contact Assistant Principal Kameelah Green at 510-475-9630.

Virtual Attendance

If your student is ill and will not be participating in Distance Learning, please contact your school site to report the absence. If your student is unable to participate in Distance Learning due to a technology issue, please contact your school site to report the absence.


New State mandates for Distance Learning require that schools take attendance each day in order to ensure students are actively engaged with their learning. When students are in a “virtual classroom” like Zoom or Google Meet, teachers will complete a visual attendance check-in, noting who is present and who is not. It is critical that students sign into their virtual classrooms in time to be counted in the attendance.


We will also be taking attendance 3 times each day:

Per 1 - This attendance is for live virtual instruction with your teacher. Students must be logged into the live instruction to be marked present.

Per 2 - This attendance is for independent work from your teacher. Students must complete their independent work daily to be marked present.

Per 3 - This attendance is for specialist instruction including live virtual instruction and/or independent work from the specialists. You must turn in independent work for these first 8 days of school to be marked present. Once live virtual instruction with specialists begins, students must need to be logged into live instruction to be marked present.
