It has been a gift to have over ten weeks of in-person learning and I am hopeful we can safely return to in-person as soon as possible. The schedule for the next few weeks will be as follows:

Monday, November 9 - In-person learning

Tuesday, November 10 - In-person learning

Wednesday, November 11 - In-person learning

Thursday, November 12 - No School - No Remote Learning

Friday, November 13 - No School - No Remote Learning

Monday, November 16 - Remote Learning Begins for all Grades K-5.

Please take some time to read the information in the Remote Learning Plan and other relevant updates this week. As always, please reach out with questions.

Thank you Veterans!

This week we honor Veterans across our nation. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we will not be hosting the annual Veterans Day program this year. We are grateful for the service and sacrifice of all Veterans in the Dry Creek community. Thank you Veterans!

Dry Creek would like to express a special thank you to our Special Education teacher, Mr. Mark Moore. Mr. Moore served as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marines from 1999-2003. He served in Iraqi Freedom Campaign in 2003. This year, Mr. Moore was honored with a Quilt of Valor for his service. To see the story on the CCSD website click here.

Accessing Microsoft Teams

Students have learned how to access the virtual classes from teachers over the last few weeks. For parents who need assistance joining virtual class, the information below will provide some direction into how to access virtual meetings.

1. Teachers or staff will send a link asking you to "Join Microsoft Team Meeting", click the link.

2. A webpage will open asking you to select between two choices: Download the Windows app or Join on the web instead. We recommend downloading the app.

Note: If you join on the web, you can either use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Your browser may ask if it is okay for Teams to use your microphone and camera. Be sure to allow it, so that you can be seen and heard in the meeting.

3. Enter your name and choose your video and audio settings

4. Select Join Now

Remote Learning Assistance

For help with remote learning (logging on, navigating platforms, obtaining log-in

information, device malfuntions, etc.), please follow these steps:

1. Ask your student’s teacher for help via phone call, e-mail or during office hours

2. Call the main office at Dry Creek at (720) 554-3300

If an issue arises during your student’s synchronous learning block, please call the main

office for immediate assistance with technical issues. Teachers will be teaching the class

and may not have the ability to stop and assist with issues.

If the office staff are unable to assist you, we will provide you with the necessary next steps to

getting your issue resolved.

Need Childcare During Remote Learning?

Explorer Club will be open during remote learning and be following a feeder model, where schools from each high-school feeder area will combine to provide care. Dry Creek Elementary will be hosting programs from Dry Creek and Walnut Hills.

To sign up for Explorer Club, sign-into your my.cherrycreekschools.org account and click on the SchoolCare tile.

More more specific information about Explorer Club during Remote Learning, click the button below.

When we will return to in-person learning?

As communicated by Dr. Siegfried, the return to in-person learning will depend on the COVID tracker metric. When there is a sustained trend of 7-14 days indicated the virus is more controlled, the decision to return to in-person learning will come into consideration. The metric can be accessed here.
