Immunizations and Health Assessment Forms - Due August 18th
7th Grade scholars - All 7th grade scholars are required to submit an updated immunization record showing receipt of the Tdap and Meningococcal (MCV) immunizations.
Scholars who are enrolling into a public school for the 1st time are required to submit the NC Health Assessment Form
Immunization Records and the NC Health Assessment form may be scanned and emailed to Vargas@kestrelheights.org, dropped off to the front office, or faxed to 919-375-2479

Kestrel Bus Transportation Sign Up!
KHS Bus Transportation Application window is OPEN!
The link will stay open for the remainder of the school year BUT, seating is limited and based on a first come first serve. Those who secure a seat will be emailed directly before the start of the school year.

Asynchronous Education Program Option
On August 18th, we will be coming back fully in-person, we will not be offering a hybrid option. If you have a medical reason you can cannot attend in-person an asynchronous option is available.

Kindergarten schedules will be released on August 20th, after the three day staggered Kindergarten days.
Kestrel Heights School PTA
The PTA consists of parents/caregivers and school staff. As an organization, the PTA takes an active role in supporting the school and providing special funds for the school. We aim to enable and support a partnership between parents and staff; home and school.
How does the PTA benefit my children?
The PTA funds and supports school projects such as: purchasing equipment for our music and athletics programs as well as classroom technology and furnishings. We also organize events and social functions such as: Book Fairs, Spirit Nights, and School Festivals.

Athletic Department
Fall Sports Information Meeting
The Fall Sports Meeting for potential student-athletes & parents will take place on Monday, August 2nd at 6:00pm in the gymnasium, located at Kestrel Heights School 6-8 campus, 4700 South Alston Ave., Durham NC 27713. If you cannot make it to the meeting and have questions about the registration process, please email hess@kestrelheights.org. We will be distributing/collecting paperwork and answering questions. After all paperwork is submitted the student athlete will be officially registered with the athletic department and eligible to try out for any sport during the year (sports physicals are good for one calendar year).

School Events
Movie Night! - Seats are Limited!
You are invited to a free family movie night on Saturday, July 17th. The movie will begin at 6:00 pm. You are welcome to begin arriving at 5:30pm. The bleachers will be open for seating or you are welcome to bring your own blankets or chairs. Masks are required unless you are eating. We will be showing Pixar's Soul - rated PG. The Kestrel Heights PTA will have complimentary popcorn and water. They will also have soda and candy for $1 each.
This event is reserved for enrolled Kestrel scholars and their families. Scholars must be accompanied by an adult. There is a limit of 100 seats so reserve yours today!

Kestrel Beautification Day!
Help us move our generous donation of mulch from Bartlett Tree Experts!!
We are seeking parent and scholar volunteers to help move mulch on Saturday, July 31st from 8:30am - 10:30am. Our PTA will have childcare available inside to watch the younger ones. Please bring garden gloves, shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows if you have them! We will have bottled water on hand.
