Birth and Early life
Linda Buck was born January 29th, 1947 in Seattle, Washington. She grew up in Seattle where she was the second of three children and had a mom and a dad. Buck graduated the University of Washington, University of Texas, and the University of Columbia. She is still alive at age 67.

Buck received the Nobel Prize in 2004, the Golden Plate Award in 2005, and also in 2005 she was the Nobel Laureate in physiology and medicine. Linda Buck opened new doors in understanding the brain. Her years of research may hold the key to understanding behaviors such as fear and aggresion. There are some theorys that smell can influence mood, memory, emotions, mate choice, the immune system, endocrine system, and we can communicate by smell. With Dr. Buck's studies over the sense of smell scientists can now tests those theorys.
