Introductions: Kelly Gleber

AP Environmental Science

The Basics

My name is clearly written above, however, not to cause any confusion, but Ruby is the name I have gone by my entire life, so call me either!

I go to Habersham Central and dual enroll at Piedmont College and I am currently a senior! Go class of 2014!

My favorite subject in high school is English, specifically AP Lang and AP Lit; my favorite subject offered in college ties between Philosophy and Psychology.

Previously before this year I was unfamiliar with GVS, but I am enrolled in two courses this semester, including this one and AP World History.

I am taking this course because I have long been involved in community outreach and service pertaining to the betterment of our environment and I wish to pursue further projects.

I hope to obtain and achieve a more developed understanding of our planet and the forces, concerns, challenges and issues that we will face in years to come and how to best prepare for an advantageous position.

I have applied to Tulane and Washington University in St. Louis already; I plan to submit applications to the following: Boston College, Georgia Tech, Univ. of Southern California, Vanderbilt and UPenn. I am keeping my options open and exploring all possibilities!

I wish to major in Political Science with a minor in economics and complete my JD in order to practice law as a career.

My Life at a Glance

My favorite books are Les Miserables, Wuthering Heights, and Candide. I prefer theatre to movies and enjoy the musical genres of Rap, R&B, Acoustic, Indie and Reggae. I identify myself as a Transcendentalist, but also as a spiritual Christian. I compete with CrossFit and instruct Zumba classes weekly. Apart from living and breathing the gym, I scuba dive, travel regularly, perform spoken word, write/read avidly, coach and play soccer, and participate actively to serve my peers and community.
