Selecting Meat

by Matthew Dalton

When looking for the fresher meat, make sure to look at the color and amount of fat on it because some are just colored and unnatural looking.

Make sure when choosing Beef that it is cherry red and little fat. Pork must be pink with little fat, Lamb/vension will be either pink or red with little fat and chicken depends on dark or white meat

For fish make sure that the eyes are bulging and that they dont emit a odor. If they are emitting odor that means they have not been frozen properly and or be old so it could be bad.

When shopping make sure that the meat is the appropriate color and the container is not leaking, if the container is leaking then ask for the butchers to either re-bag it or double wrap it
