The Markley
January Edition
A Message from Dr. Hoffritz's Office
Happy New Year!
I hope that you have had a relaxing and memorable break! On behalf of our teachers and staff, I would like to thank all of you for your kindness and generosity over the holidays.
Unfortunately, COVID continues to impact our community and school. Thank you to all our families for your understanding as we continue to navigate this pandemic. Your partnership is key to our students' success. K.D. Markley is dedicated to keeping your child(ren) safe while providing a supportive, engaging and academically challenging school culture.
As a school and as a district we follow the COVID guidelines put in place by the Chester County Health Department. If COVID issues arise with your child(ren) and/or family members, please e-mail our nurse (vmembiscuso@gvsd.org) and principal (mhoffritz@gvsd.org). We appreciate you reaching out with any COVID related reporting, questions, or concerns.
As a reminder, the Great Valley School District does not offer a hybrid or virtual learning option for our students during this school year. In cases of probable COVID (positive cases, waiting for test results, close contact, quarantine, etc.), impacted students will be provided a Teams or Seesaw link to access their classes. Please be patient with teachers as they set up the invitations. It can take a day or so to create the links.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments or concerns. My door is always open. Thank you!
Marshall Hoffritz, Ed.D.
Absence: Do I Really Need to Call?
If you prefer to not use email, we kindly request that you call the school at 610-889-1620 and send a note with your child(ren) upon their return.
Picking Up Early?
If you are picking up early please do so before 3:15. Thank you.
A Reminder to Follow our School's Masking Guidelines
If your child needs a mask they can pick one up in the main office.
Recess Reminder!
Students should come to school and be prepared to go outside. Make sure your child is wearing a jacket, gloves, and hat, as the temperature drops.
