SUMMER BIRTHDAY'S!!
Dear Dieck Parents:
Re: Summer Birthday Announcements
Instead of having so many birthdays to announce on the last day of school, starting on May 1st we will begin to announce our summer birthday students too. So for example, on May 1st any student with a birthday on May 1st, July 1st, or August 1st will be announced during our morning announcements.
On May 2, May 2, July 2, and August 2 birthdays will be announced and so on. I will do this throughout the month of May.
June birthday’s will be announced in June.
Hopefully this will make our summer birthday students feel special about their birthday too
If you would like to send in a birthday treat in for your student on the coinciding day in May that would be fine, but not mandatory. All teachers ask is that you drop off the treats in the office anytime throughout the day. Your student will come down when the class is ready, normally at the end of the day to get their treat to be shared with their class. We do not have birthday “parties”, just a simple sharing of a small treat is sufficient.
Thank you!!

From the desk of Mr. Fuller:
I often hear educators state that the majority of jobs that will exist in the not so distant future have not yet been invented. Our time in history is unlike any other. This rapidly changing environment creates unique challenges for parents and educators. How do we prepare our children to be successful and productive members of this changing world?
I believe we start with a solid foundation in the traditional skills taught in America’s schools; reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies. Beyond that, we need to develop students that regard learning as a lifelong pursuit. We wish to instill in our learners the motivation to ask questions and the curiosity to seek answers to their questions. As educators we are continually striving for the processes and strategies which will help our students develop these characteristics.
By exposing students to a wide variety of learning opportunities, we hope that each of them will discover many things that will spark a passion to seek greater knowledge and understanding. Our world provides us with infinite possibilities for learning. Discoveries that were only dreamed of when I was in elementary school have become our children’s casually accepted realities. The same will be true of their world thirty years from now.
That fact alone should spark anyone’s imagination.
