Principal's Message

It was a GREat week at GRE! We have wrapped up most of our beginning of the year assessments and strong instruction and learning is well underway!

We have been working on practicing expected behaviors in all settings at school and students are responding very well to this! One way we do this is through "Tune Up Tuesdays" in which we share on the morning announcements a particular expectation that we are all extra tuned into and it's a way for students to earn extra Bobcat Bucks. This Tuesday, Ms. Koca's class was one of the (many!) classes spotted doing an exceptional job! They are shown with their stacks of bucks after Mrs. Cowgill watched them walk so very quietly into specials and then they received more for working hard in their typing assignment they just started. Well done, Ms. Koca's class!

Enjoy your 4-day weekend and we will be ready to greet your students back on Tuesday morning!

BLAS Food Program

The Basehor-Linwood Assistance Services (BLAS) team is providing a food program for families in need. Students who are signed up for the ‘BackPack’ program will receive a weekly bag with a variety of food inside. BLAS will deliver the ‘BackPacks’ to your child’s school towards the end of each week to be distributed by school staff into the child’s backpack. This program is funded solely through donations and the number of participants is limited based on the donations received. There are no costs to participate in the program for the child, parent/guardian, or school. If you are interested in participating in this program, please contact the counselor, Mrs. Zimmerschied. You can send an email to jzimmerschied@usd458.org or call the school line at 913-724-3536 ext. 1403.
