Round Up Time!
Volunteers still NEEDED!
It's almost Round Up time and we are still looking for volunteers! If you have just an hour to help, have a teenager who needs service hours or have the whole afternoon to serve, we would certainly appreciate it! We won't be able to do it without you! Sign up here. Questions? Contact Laurie Cockman at email@example.com. THANK YOU!!
Please remember to get your pre-orders in for Penny's Wild West Round Up by Tuesday, October 17! Order your admission tickets and meals using the form here. Round Up pre-orders will be sent home with students on Friday, October 20.
Parenting Book Discussion
Ever feel stumped when trying to communicate with your children?
School Social Worker, Bonnie Mulfinger, and School Counselor, Sarah Fenik, will be co-facilitating a book discussion on How To Talk So Kids Will Listen & Listen So Kids Will Talk by Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish.
Our discussion will take place on Thursday mornings for 3 weeks beginning on October 19 and we will meet from 8:45 to 9:30 am.
Please call or email Bonnie Mulfinger at (919) 387-2136 ex 26186 or firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up to join us or if you have any questions about this new effort to help in the challenging and rewarding job of parenting.

Veteran's Day program
WE NEED YOUR PHOTOS! We will be honoring our military families with a slideshow this year. Please send us your photos of any active military or veteran family members (alive or deceased) from our PRE community. Please send your photos to Robin Stephens (email@example.com) by November 1 to be included in this special honorary tribute. Thank You!
Makerspace in the Creative Commons!
Mrs. Platts and Mrs. Nixon are in the process of creating a Makerspace in the Creative Commons and we need your help!
This area will be open to students, teachers, and the community as a place to create. The Makerspace will allow students to integrate and apply knowledge of science, math, technology, art, and engineering in order to create technologies and solutions for real-world problems. We are excited that we have received funding from the PTA to purchase items such as circuitry kits, building sets, and much more. However, we need your help in supplying the area with consumable items to be used in the Makerspace. Items may be brought directly to the Creative Commons!
We are in need of the following items to help get our Makerspace ready for use…
- Toilet paper & Paper towel rolls
- Paper/Styrofoam cups, bowls, & plates
- Brown bags
- Newspaper, packing peanuts, & bubble wrap
- Aluminum foil & Wax paper
- Masking tape & Decorative duct tape
- Pipe cleaners, & String/yarn/twine
- Buttons, Coffee filters, & Balloons (new, deflated)
- Popsicle sticks & Straws
- Paperclips, Paint sticks, & Rubber bands
- Playdough/modeling clay
- new or used Legos or K’Nex
