Mrs. Stone and Mrs. O'Dell's
Kindergarten Korner
WELCOME TO SEPTEMBER!
YOUR TEACHERS AND FOSTER GRANDPARENT (Mrs. Stone, Mrs. O'Dell, Maw Maw Rose)
Meet our ASU intern-Ms. Shore!💚💛
Hello! My name is Juleigh Shore! I am a senior at Appalachian State University studying Child Development with a concentration in Birth through Kindergarten Education! I will be in your child's classroom for several weeks gaining experience in a public Kindergarten classroom. During my time in your child's classroom, I will be observing development and typical routines of the classroom, getting to know your child's learning needs and interests, developing learning experiences for children to engage in meaningful learning, and practicing assessing learning. I am here for your child's education as well as, and really before, my own! I have already had wonderful experiences getting to know your child and am excited to learn more about them and how I can assist in their learning!
Sincerely,
Juleigh Shore

Reminders for the Week of September 27-30
**There is NO SCHOOL this Monday, September 26th. It is a Required Teacher Workday. We look forward to seeing students back on Tuesday.
**Wednesday, September 28th is Picture Day! Everyone will be pictured. If you would like to purchase your child's pictures, please complete and return the order form envelope with payment by Wednesday. This is a "pay at the camera" event. Please help us by making sure your child's order envelope is in their green folder and that it's completed with payment inside if you would like to order pictures. We will not be looking inside of book-bags-we only look in their green folder. Thanks for your help!
**Our first progress report goes home this Wednesday. Please sign the envelope and return to school by Thursday. You may keep the progress report. We will have parent/teacher conferences soon. I can't wait to brag on our students' progress!
**Keep up the great work with the homework routine! Great job on baggie books and Weekly Words Recognition!
**Don't forget to send a healthy snack and water bottle each day with your child.
**Please make sure we know how your child will go home each day. If you have changes in transportation, please call the office and send me a Dojo message.
Fridays are Ice Cream Days!

**Help your child read/recognize our 5 Weekly High Frequency Words. We will send home 5 words each week for recognition only. Students will need to practice recognizing/reading their Weekly Words each night. High-Frequency word recognition is very important-90% of texts students read are these "high-frequency words". We will have a recognition "test" on Fridays to check their progress.
