LMS Tiger Talk
February 24, 2022
Principal's Message
This week at LMS we saw many of our classrooms heading outside to enjoy the amazing weather. The spring weather has certainly been a treat and serves as a reminder that we are moving quickly through 3rd quarter. With only two weeks to go til the end of the quarter, please check in with your student to make sure they are getting any missing work turned in to put themselves in the best possible position for their 3rd quarter grades. The last day of the quarter is Thurs, 3/9 with a teacher inservice day set for Fri, 3/10 which means no school for our students that day.
This week we are giving some big shout-outs to our LMS VEX Robotics and Revolution Show Choir student groups. They've been having some great seasons and we are proud of all of their accomplishments! Check out the features below for more.
A great weekend to you all!
Take care and Go Tigers!

Stevel Copple Presentation
On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, our 8th grade students had the opportunity to hear a presentation from Steve Coppel. Mr. Coppel is a second generation Survivor, as his parents, Trudy and Werner, both survived the Holocaust, eventually fleeing to the United States. For over 35 years, Werner Coppel shared his message of standing up to hate and prejudice. Since Werner's passing in 2016, Steve has continued his father's legacy through speaking to students, teachers, and adults as well as serving as a volunteer giving tours and speaking to groups at The Nancy and David Wolf Holocaust & Humanity Center in Cincinnati.
Mr. Coppel's visit corresponded with recent texts read in eighth grade English Language Arts and topics from United States History. In addition, the enduring message of being a "Upstander," willing to stand up against those spreading ideas of hate and prejudice, complements one of the core goals of Loveland City Schools: being a good citizen who thinks globally while acting locally.
The students, staff, and administration at Loveland Middle School would like to thank the MINT PTSA for their generous donation to the Holocaust & Humanity Center in sponsoring this event.
Team CoUREage 4.0 LLS
Team CoUREage 4.0 LLS is a team of students, led by LHS students Emma Steiner, Marcel Mangan and Orhan Ozbudak who are raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Kona Ice at LMS
With proceeds benefitting Team CoURGEa 4.0 LLS fundraising efforts, Kona Ice will be at LMS for students on 3/8 for 7th grade and 3/9 for 8th grade. Make sure your student has money to join in the tasty fun!
LMS Dodgeball Tournament
"Remember the 5 D's of dodgeball: Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge." The LMS Dodgeball Tournament benefiting LHS Team CoUREage 4.0 who are fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will be held on Friday, March 3rd in the LMS gym. It will begin after school and will run until around 4:00 or until all games are completed. All paperwork and team money are due to Ms. Rose in room 14 by Tuesday, February 28th. See her if you have any questions.
Join the LMS Spring Coed Bowling Club!
Who should join? Any LMS 7th or 8th grader interested in having some fun and learning a little more about the game. Both boys and girls are welcome!
What is the commitment? Once a week on Tuesdays for 5 weeks beginning on April 11th and ending on May 9th.
Where do we bowl? Crossgate Lanes (in Blue Ash) which are the home lanes for the Boys and Girls High School Bowling teams.
What is the cost? Cost is $8, all you can bowl from 3:15-4:45. Includes bowling shoes.

Is this an actual sport for my school? No, this is a club. You won’t bowl against other schools. You’ll just bowl with each other.
What if I have never bowled before? No problem! This club is for bowlers of all levels. And you’re likely to improve if you can come every week!
Will I learn much about the game? Absolutely! We definitely want to have some fun. But Coach Adams will be there to help you improve on your game as well!
How do I sign up? Just email Coach Adams at adamsst@lovelandschools.org and advise him that you are interested in participating. And then sign up for the “LMS Spring Coed Bowling Club” via Final Forms.

M/INT PTSA
Science Day:
We are getting close to having all our presenters! We can't pull off this day without your help. While this day is for LIS students there is not reason presenters can't be parents of students from other Loveland schools or members of our community. Thursday, March 30th, from 7:45 am until 1:45 pm (lunch will be provided). Our theme for the year is Science is FUN.
The idea would be to present a topic of your choice, involving science, for about 40 minutes to 5 different groups of students. Each homeroom group has about 28 kids. Your presentation could be anything from a lesson to a demonstration to an explanation of your job, etc. Possibilities are endless and we are happy to help along the way. We're wanting to engage students and show them how Science is FUN.
We can only pull off this day if we obtain enough presenters. We would forever be grateful for your help! Please email or call/text Tara Hamilton at tarahamilton411@hotmail.com or 513-255-5435. Thank you so much!
