Attention Parents
Please remind students if they are wearing hoods then their ears must be exposed. We had lots of students receive earbuds for gifts and they are utilizing their hoods to cover having them in their ears. Earbuds are a safety hazard as students cannot hear if something is happening if they have earbuds in their ears. If students are not wearing hood correctly they will be told they cannot wear them at all.
We do not allow Cell Phones to be out during the day parents if you need to get a message to your child please call the front office. We believe students are at school to increase their learning and to increase their social emotional competencies which is why we do not allow cell phones to be utilized. To become more socially competent you must interact with others and we encourage group work in the classroom, partner work, and team work to help build these social competencies and cell phones interfere with this process as does listening to music.
Hold the date Friday, January 19th we will hold goodies with guardians. Parents are invited in to meet with administration between 9 and 10 to discuss any positive experiences or concerns they have around their students here at MCMS. We want to meet and include parents in our decisions this would be a great time to come share ideas. Administration will provide breakfast items, water, and coffee. Please email Ms. Amstutz if you are interested in attending or call the front office at 443-550-9190. Ms. Amstutz's email is amstutzr@calvertnet.k12.md.us
