HOTEL PLANNER
We are running low on single rooms (only two left). Watch the video to learn how to use the hotel planner and place the students and advisors in the rooms that you'll need:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JyN8XxSUHqE&feature=youtu.be
HOTEL
To finish making your hotel reservations scroll down to Fees / Options. Then click on ADD Optional State Fee Items. Select your room type and be sure to click on save directly under the room choice. This adds your hotel fees. HOTEL FEES NEED TO MATCH HOTEL PLANNER (you may want to go back and watch that video).
Final invoices
Fee Estimates are available to start your PO process immediately. Please do not consider your bill final until we've verified that hotel charges are appropriate (every year, a few rooms move people around without hotel fees attached). After registration closes, and chapter charges are reviewed, final invoices will go out through our Business Manager, Colleen Boeder.
Thank you for your patience in making sure everything is accurate (and paid for).
NLSC State Products in registration
- 50th NM Commemorative Coin $10/each
- NM Conference trading pins $1/each (yes, trading state pins is a big thing at nationals)
- NLSC T-shirts $7.50 (not included with registration, $10 on site).
- NM Spirit Shirt $15 to commemorate our 50th (national SkillsUSA spirit shirts are $30)
- Hotel fees (must match your hotel rooming through the hotel planner)
- Selena Gomez concert tickets $45/$95+ onsite
Because of the optional items and the adjusting of hotel fees, invoices will not be generated until after all registrations are in. Please print and use the Fee Estimates to start the Purchase Order process with your business manager.
REMINDER-UNLESS MEMBERSHIP PAYMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED BY NATIONALS, NLSC REGISTRATION WILL BE BLOCKED.

NLSC COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS
SkillsUSA is excited once again to partner with GOJO Industries for this year’s community service projects during the National Leadership and Skills Conference on Friday, June 24. SkillsUSA students will have an opportunity to apply their skills in providing much needed services to the greater Louisville community. The day will start with a “send-off” event at 7:30 a.m. in South Wing C Lobby of the Kentucky Exposition Center.
We are still finalizing the locations and expect to have at least two more sites, but here is the list so far:
Brightside: Volunteers will assist in planting trees and shrubs to help make Louisville a sustainable city. Brightside works to unite people in clean and green activities to beautify the city and foster community pride.
Dare to Care: This regional food bank network partners with over 300 local social-service agencies to distribute food to those who need it most. Volunteers will help sort donated food items at the local warehouse.
Louisville Metro Parks: Volunteers will participate in the beautification of city parks by applying mulch, removing weeds and possibly painting and cleaning at community centers.
Youth Build: Volunteers will participate in street cleanup and landscaping on the campus and work on its wiffle ball field, rain garden, vegetable garden and outdoor learning classroom.
If you have any questions, contact Byekwaso Gilbert at bgilbert@skillsusa.org.
If you are in these events...please don't register:
SkillsUSA NATIONAL WEEK OF SERVICE IS MAY 8-14
We invite all of our chapters to conduct or promote a community service project during SkillsUSA’s National Week of Service, May 8-14. This not only will help commemorate the founding of SkillsUSA, it will also harness the power of our combined efforts to showcase the good work being done by our student members. The National Week of Service increases attention for career and technical education and the value of SkillsUSA. With more time for chapters to plan their community service efforts, we hope to increase the number of chapters participating and therefore gain more local and national media attention for our efforts.
