Important Information
- Please send headphones to school with your child. They will be using these weekly for class, media, science, testing, etc. They don't have to be fancy, you can find them at the dollar store and they work great!
- If you have not given $6 for party money please do that when you can. We will be using this throughout the year to help pay for our various holiday parties we have throughout the year.
- If your child has a change in after school plans it is important that you call transportation. Thank you for being patient with our new system, it is not perfect but we are working on it. I request that you also send a note with your child as well just so I know that there is a change in their transportation just in case I have a sub and also a reminder to myself and the student. Thank you!
Important Dates
Sept 17th--Consitution Day (Wear Red, White and Blue)
Sept 29th - Oct 5th -- CES Book Fair
Homework
The only homework we currently have is reading 20 minutes each night. I will check this weekly to make sure students are continuing their reading. I understand things come up and that some nights they can't read for 20 minutes. I encourage them to read 5 minutes extra each night then to make up for that missed night of reading. Some ways to foster reading for your child is to keep books visible around your home. They can also read recipes, magazines the paper. Have books in the car so they can read to and from school or on the way to their activities or while they wait in the doctors office. Use this time to have your child read with an older or younger sibling who also has reading homework. They can help each other! An adult can also read to them and it will still count. Thank you for helping with this!!
*I will be sending home a packet each month of math worksheets that are concepts we have worked on at school. They are not homework but review and can be done if you feel your child needs or wants to work on some more math.
