Simmons Elementary School Field Day is Friday, June 2nd for all students.
There will be two sessions: 9:15 – 11 a.m. and 1:15 – 3 p.m.
The morning session will include all Simmons students, Kindergarten through Grade 5.
The afternoon session will include Grades 3, 4, and 5.
Your child should wear the team color assigned to their homeroom:
Blue: Braxton, Plajer, Sciubba, Caldwell, Hager, Pinter
Green: Liott, Kahan, Roseman, Reynolds, Lieberman, Koebert
Orange: Milardo, DiLossi, Ehling, Booth, Jones
Red: Beck, Green, Bozzomo, Tu, Critelli
Yellow: Salevsky, Peterson, Bellizzie, Lloyd, Weber, Teitelbaum
· Please apply sunscreen at home. Children can wear hats for Field Day activities.
· Students should NOT come to school with hair spray or dye, face/body paint or eye black.
· Water will be available outdoors for the students during Field Day.
· No animals or pets should be brought to Field Day, except for service animals.
· Also, no tents are allowed to be placed on school property during Field Day.
If you are coming to Field Day, please wear your HHSD volunteer badge, if you have one. If you wear your badge, you do NOT need to check in at the main lobby. If you don’t have a badge, please come to the lobby, sign in, and get a visitor sticker. Remember to leave some extra time to find a space to legally park your car. No vehicles should be parked in the school entrances, as we have buses coming in and out throughout the day.
We will follow the regular lunch schedule on Field Day:
Grades K & 1 11 – 11:45 a.m.
Grades 2 & 3 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Grades 4 & 5 12:30 – 1:15 p.m.
You are welcome to join your child for lunch inside the cafeteria or picnic-style outdoors. If you are bringing lunch for your child, please have it with you at the start of the lunch period. It is helpful if you let your child’s teacher know that you are having lunch with them.
For students in grades K, 2, and 4, parents can meet them in the cafeteria at the beginning of the period, as these students have lunch first, then recess.
For students in grades 1, 3, and 5, parents can meet them on the playground at the beginning of the period, as these students have recess first, then lunch.
Please be sure that your child comes back to the classroom at the end of their scheduled lunch period. For continuity of the children’s day, we ask that parents not stay in the classroom with their children. If your student is in grades 3, 4 or 5, you are welcome to rejoin us outside for the afternoon session of Field Day at 1:15 p.m.
If you are planning to take your child home at the end of Field Day, please send in a note that morning to your child’s teacher. That will help us get everyone home safely!
The weather forecast for Friday looks hot and sunny. If we need to postpone Field Day due to rainy weather, we will send an email blast to school families by 8 a.m. Friday morning and use our rain date of Monday, June 5th.
