News of the Week
March 25-30
Important Reminders!
Here are a few reminders for next week:
- Easter Egg Hunt... We had a good time! Thank you for sending in eggs! I am sure the kids will love going through them at home today!
- Jump Rope For Heart... We had fun jumping today! Our school raised over $6000. See below for a few pictures.
- Earth Day Festival... We finished our persuasive writing unit by focusing on the upcoming Earth Day holiday. We filled our hallway with writing about saving trees, saving water, picking up litter, and recycling. We also made a beautiful Earth sun catcher. See below for some photos.
- Book Drive... As you do your spring cleaning, please send in any books that your family is done with during the month of April for our school-wide book drive! Every child K-4 will receive a bag of self-selected, age appropriate books to take home for summer reading. We are accepting children's books and magazines and also adult books. Did you know that summer reading has a larger impact than summer school on kids' progress? PLEASE make sure your child is reading EVERYDAY for 20 minutes or more in the summer. They have to make HUGE reading progress in 1st grade and will need all the practice they can get!
- First Grade... if you would like to submit information about your child's teacher for next year (not the teacher's name that you want, but your child's learning style and what sort of classroom would be the best fit) don't forget to fill out this form on the school website by April 13th.
- Spring Break... Have a great one!
- PIR Reminder... PIR is almost over! Keep logging at home reading through the month of April! Send in red folders on Thursdays!
- Kindergarten Countdown... 32 school days left!
Save the dates!
