Essential Questions
Are you asking the right questions? Essential Questions: What do effective problem solvers do when they get stuck? How strong is the scientific evidence? Not Essential Questions: What steps did you follow to get your answer?
Characteristics of a Good Essential Question
1. It is open ended, no single answer. 2. Thought-provoking and intellectually engaging. 3. Calls for higher order thinking. 4. Points towards important, transferable ideas. 5. Raises additional questions. 6. Requires support and justification. 7. Recurs over time, meaning the question should be revisited. (Essential Questions, by McTighe and Wiggins)

Staying in the Know...
Supervision - As we move into the last few weeks of school, it is more than important than ever that students are closely supervised. Thank you for being mindful of this important responsibility and ensuring our students are safe. (District Goal 3, School Safety)
Photos - Photos are being put up outside the office by Student Council. Staff submitting a photo earn a "free" point for submitting their photo. Number your papers and fill in the blanks with the names of the staff members, one point for each correct answer. There are great prizes available for the winner(s).
