Morning arrival routine
- Doors open at 7:30 am for student entrance.
- Students waiting outside should use good social distancing. If students are standing more than 6 ft. apart, masks can be removed outside on school property.
- Masks are required by board policy for staff, students, and visitors in the building.
- Masks should cover the nose, mouth, and chin.
- Breakfast is served in the Courtyard before school.
- Students will be directed to the Courtyard, Auditorium, and Activity Gym prior to the start of homeroom. Students can also wait near their homeroom in a socially distanced manner prior to 8 am.
- Students should avoid congregating in large, close standing groups.
Lunch/Courtyard routines with 50% attendance.
- These changes start Thursday, September 3rd.
- Each lunch mod is split into two half mods. (4/5, 6/7, 8/9, 10/11)
- In order to both de-densify the Courtyard and also de-densify IMC's and other locations students can go during mods 4-11, students will now be directed to eat either during the first 1/2 of a lunch mod or the second 1/2 of the lunch mod.
- 10th and 11th grade students should eat mod 4, 6, 8, or 10 based on when they have an open mod during these four options.
- 9th and 12th grades should eat mod 5, 7, 9, or 11 based on when they have an open mod during these four options.
- The only exception would be if a student has a class schedule that only allows them to eat a mod not designated for his/her grade.
- The other half of the mod students will need to leave the Courtyard in order to make space for the next lunch group.
- Students should only come to the Courtyard one time during mods 4-11.
- Students are expected to wear their mask until they are seated to eat. Once done eating, the mask should be placed over the nose, mouth, and chin.
- If a student is only drinking and not eating, the mask should be replaced in the correct position when pausing between sips.
Hallway traffic/Passing between classes
- We will implement a one minute delay for some classrooms in order to spread out passing some.
- Teachers will notify students if the class will leave at the bell or one minute after the bell.
- We will continue to use one ways in busier areas to minimize congestion in certain areas.
- Students should move directly to the next destination on their schedule. No congregating in hallways.
Before and After School Drop Off/Pick Up
- Three entrances are open at 7:30 am in the morning. Main east entrance, the entrance(door towards east) on the north drive between the school and Coram Deo Church, and the west entrance nearest the tennis courts.
- If dropping off in front of the school on the east side, please pull up to the area indicated by the green star on the student pickup diagram below. This allows multiple cars to drop off at the same time and will make the process quicker.
After school pick up at main entrance
- To increase safety and not turn Pacific Street into a parking lot, please pull into the lot and temporarily park in the rows indicated by yellow in the parking diagram leaving space for cars to pull by.
- Coming 10 minutes after school is released is also a great way to alleviate some of the traffic pressure at release time, 3:10 pm.
Student Parking Reminders
Current Available Parking
- On campus parking in non-numbered spots.(numbered spots are for staff)
- Leased parking near Christ the King Church on Shamrock Rd north of Countryside Village.
- Street parking on 87th or William St. No pass required. Get to school early if counting on parking here.
- Last year we oversold parking in school lots. Our plan is to use on campus parking for seniors only. Final decision on this will be based on the number of passes purchased by seniors at the end of this week.
- Juniors entering the lottery will currently be vying for spots at Christ the King Church.
- Pacific Hills Church has no spots this year due to building and parking lot construction.
- If your student intends on purchasing a parking pass, please do this before the end of this week.
- How we assign juniors entering the parking lottery is determined by the number of senior passes purchased at the beginning of the year.
- Senior families can complete the parking pass information on My School Bucks.
- Questions regarding purchasing senior parking passes can be directed toward Kathy Johansen. johansen.kathryn@westside66.net
Juniors
- If junior students want to be entered in the parking lottery for spots near Christ the King, the student should complete the form this week in the dean's office.
- There is no cost to fill out the lottery form.
General questions regarding parking and the parking lottery can be directed toward Brad Metzler. metzler.bradley@westside66.net
