ADDITIONAL REMINDERS
As the year progresses we will continue to send important reminders. We understand that there is a learning curve, but these are really in place to keep our students safe:
- We love pets! However, please do not bring any pets on school grounds. We do have a number of students who have allergies and are very scared of our furry friends.
- Arrival and Dismissal Procedures are so important. We want our students to feel safe and be safe! Please cross the street at the crosswalks. Please do not park in the drop-off zones or bus zones. Please get to school on time (8:30 am). Please have your child line up while you step back to where all other parents are located. Please do not pull into the teacher's parking lot.
- After dropping off your child, please do not remain on campus. Classes are in session.
- Please do not use playground equipment before school! Students should lineup and be supervised at all times.
- If your child is late, please walk them inside and sign them in at the main office. If your child is out for any reason, please call our attendance phone line (973-593-3173 ext.
- Last, please walk bicycles on school grounds. We do not want any injuries!

Notes from Nurse Young
Welcome Back!
I hope you all had a healthy and relaxing summer.
Sickness: Please keep your child home if they are not feeling well. Please refer to the Covid-19 attached infographic for guidance from Madison/Bloomfield Health Department for the 2023/2024 School Year.
Students must be fever free for at least 24 hours without fever reducing medication before returning to school. The same 24 hour rule goes for vomiting and diarrhea. Students should be feeling well and tolerating their normal diet.
If your child is not feeling well at school I will contact you. Please be sure to have updated your contact information in Genesis and have listed others who may pick up your child if you are not available.
Roll Call: If your child is going to be late or not coming into school please call roll call before 8:45. All students must be accounted for as soon as possible for safety reasons.
Medication: If your child needs medication at school even if it is an over- the- counter one a doctor's note is required. I can administer Tylenol with parental consent and emergency medications without a medical note. If you do not have the attached form with you at the doctor visit as long as the note is signed and on letterhead that is acceptable.
Nuts and Peanuts: All classrooms are nut and peanut free. These foods can be consumed in the lunchroom. Please remind your child there is no sharing of food or drinks at school.
Recess: Please be sure your child is wearing shoes for running and playing during recess. Flip flops, open toed shoes and sandals are not recommended.
Hoping for a healthy & happy school year for all :)

What is the CAS Learning Garden?
Created in 2015, the CAS Learning Garden is an outdoor, interactive classroom that is enjoyed and cared for by all students and teachers at CAS, who each have the exciting opportunity to plant organic vegetables and enjoy harvesting and then best of all, tasting them!
We need your help! Please sign up as a parent volunteer to help in the garden and assist the students and teachers during their visit. We also need volunteers to help with weeding and watering throughout the year.
