Labor Day Weekend

Monday, September 5th is Labor Day. There is NO SCHOOL for students and our offices are closed. Classes will resume for students on Tuesday, September 6th, and our offices will be open again. Telephone assistance is available from 7 am until 4 pm and in-person assistance is provided from 8:45 am until 1:45 pm when office hours resume.

Never Forgotten

In 2001, it was announced that September 11 would be recognized as a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims of the Terrorist Attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001. Students and staff are invited to dress in RED, WHITE, and BLUE ATTIRE with uniform bottoms on Friday, September 9th, in recognition of Patriot Day on Sunday, September 11th.

Quarter 1 Clubs Begin!

Quarter 1 clubs begin on Monday, September 12th, for eligible students who have been successfully registered. All communication about your child's club(s) will be sent by the Club Moderator. Club dismissal takes place at 4:00 pm for elementary students (K-5) and at 5:00 pm for MYP students on the east side of the building (bus side). Last day of Q1 Clubs is Thursday, October 20, 2022.
National Junior Arts Honors Society

Grade 6-8/MYP Y1-Y3 students can apply to participate in the National Junior Arts Honors Society by visiting this link for more information.

EARLY RELEASE Day

Tuesday, September 13th is an EARLY RELEASE DAY for students. Elementary students will be dismissed at 11:15 am and MYP students at 12:15 pm. Early sign-out ends at 10:45 am for all students, in preparation for early release dismissal. A $1 per minute late fee will be applied for each student who is not picked up on time beginning at 11:45 am (K-5) and 12:45 pm (MYP).

Our offices will not have in-person assistance after 10:45 am and telephone assistance will be limited due to mandatory staff training between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm.

Students will be receiving their 2022-2023 school id card

after the photographers from Fox-Mar have visited our campus.

Students that need to replace a lost/missing id will be charged for the replacement pieces.

Any fees applied for replacement items will apear in your PowerSchool account

and can be paid with a check, money-order or online payment with a credt card.

MYP Athletic Tryout Events

Grade 5 - 8/MYP Y3 atheletes are ivited to particpate in our basketball tryout events,

as long as they have submitted their Pre-participation Paperwork!

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated throughout the latter half of September and the first half of October. It began as a way to promote the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic-Americans — specifically, those whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. Communities mark the achievements of Hispanic and Latino Americans with festivals and educational activities.

2022-2023 Student and Educator Art and Essay Contests

First Lady Casey DeSantis announced the upcoming 2022–2023 school year student art and essay contests and the Excellence in Education awards. This year’s theme is “Celebrating the Achievements of Hispanic, Native American, and Black Floridians.” The contests will coincide with Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, 2022, Native American Heritage Month in November 2022, and Black History Month in February 2023.

Interim Progress Reports Issued

Interim propgress reports for all students in grades 1 - 8 will be issued electronically on Friday, September 16th. Parents/Guardians should check their email account for the message sent via SwiftReach, or may log in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal to access the report.

Spirit Stick Dress Down Day

Students who purchased a TOP FRANKLIN SPIRIT STICK are eligible to DRESS DOWN in school-appropriate clothing on Friday, September 16th.

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on September 21. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.
