Murphy PTO- OEHS Class of 2025 T-shirt
Murphy PTO is working with a local vendor to again offer an OEHS Class of 2025 t-shirt. We want to celebrate our graduating 8th graders! Ordering and paying is very easy. Just fill out the order form using the link below, make your payment online and our volunteers will make a contact-free delivery to your house. The cost of the t-shirt is $15 (which includes a $1 service fee). Orders are due Friday May 21, 2021. We will send order updates out via our Facebook page (Murphy PTO- Home of the Mavericks). Please contact email@example.com if you have any questions.
2021 Murphy PTO Scholarship Application
The Murphy Junior High PTO is pleased to announce the establishment of a scholarship fund for Oswego East High School seniors who attended Murphy Junior High. To be eligible, you must have completed your 8 th grade year at Murphy and be attending an accredited institution of higher learning. We will be awarding two $500 scholarships (one male/one female). You may use a second sheet of paper if needed.
Noodles & Company Murphy Fundraiser
In addition to in-restaurant sales, we are now opening up our fundraisers to online sales as well. For online and Noodles Rewards app orders, guests can apply the coupon code, “GIVING25” in the Coupon Code line at checkout. Ordering online is quick and easy and allows guests to skip the line by grabbing their meal at our Quick Pick-Up station or where pick up windows are present. This is a great option for guests who prefer to dine at home or on-the-go but still want to support your organization.
When ordering, in-restaurant guests must mention your organization or present the flyer upon placing your order prior to paying.

2021-2022 Returning Student Registration
Please be sure to complete your registration if you are returning next school year.
If you are willing to donate any items to the Makerspace, we'd really appreciate it! Items such Legos, K'nex, small/medium covered storage bins, Play-doh, marbles, supplies for marble runs, etc. are a great start. We are open to ideas and any donated items that could make this space a great addition to our building.
Parent Drop-Off and Bus Lane Reminders
THANK YOU to those who are pulling forward! It's helping!
Please pull all the way forward near Door 1 to the "Student Drop-Off Here" sign when dropping off students so multiple students can be dropped off at the same time and to diminish the traffic in the parking lot and on the street. Please also remember to keep the cross walk and fire hydrant clear. Be mindful of others around you and stay in line. We understand that the line is long, as we have more pick-ups this year, but please follow these expectations in order to do our best to keep you and our students safe and the traffic moving.
Please remember that the bus lot is only for buses. All cars need to drive through the pick up line at the front of the building.

8th Grade Promotion- UPDATED
All 8th grade students have received an email with a questionnaire form to complete to add a personalized slide to the Promotion Night video and to the Murphy Facebook page. This information needs to be completed by Friday, May 7th at 4:00 pm.
The questionnaire asks for student name, where they're attending HS, their future goals, what they miss about in-person school, their favorite artist, and favorite activities. This was sent to 8th grade students to complete from their district account. We are also asking what information they would like shared on the Murphy Facebook page and what information they would like shared on the Promotion Video. Parents- You are able to view the questionnaire from your 8th grade student's email account.
Because of our modified promotion, Murphy Junior High and the Murphy PTO have chosen to gift our 8th graders with a congratulatory yard sign...be on the lookout for these over the weekend!
Health Office Updates
Attention Parents of 6th Grade Students
A dental exam is required for all 6th grade students. An exam dated between 11/15/2019 to the current date will meet this requirement. Please fax (630-608-5191) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) a completed dental form to the Nurse Gia. If you have any questions, please contact her at 630-608-5102.
MAVS Expectations for Behavior
Hoodies: Just a reminder, hoods should stay down during the school day.

This includes lunch and passing periods. All cell phones should be off and out of site for the entirety of the day. If you need to make a phone call, please come to the main office for assistance.
Murphy 2020-2021 Yearbook

Oswego Public Library Digital Access
Click on the Documents below for more information and the Google Form to complete for access.
Want an Oswego Public Library Card?
The launch of our Ecard barcodes has gone so well! We’re now ready to start Phase 2 of our partnership, which is getting an actual physical card into the hands of every kid in SD308!
The Ecard barcode that you received from your school librarian will not allow you to check out actual physical materials, but...getting a card is easy!
Just visit either campus of the library and show them your driver’s license or state ID. This is all you need if your ID has your current address on it.
If your ID does not have your current address, then please bring one of the following items as proof of residency:
*Utility bill dated within 60 days (electronic version accepted)
*Rent receipt dated within 60 days
** Please note that handwritten letters will not be accepted as proof of residency.**
***IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are not a resident of the library district, but you are still a student in the 308 school district, you may still receive a STUDENT card (with an expiration date of June 1, 2021) which will allow you to check out up to 20 items at a time. Simply visit the circulation desk of either campus with a parent or guardian with an ID.***
Did you know that the public library has more than just books? Perhaps you’d like to listen to some new music, or watch a new movie? Maybe you’d like to start a book club with your friends or neighbors? Are you looking for STEAM activities to do with your children or your scout troop? The public library has everything you need!
We encourage you to explore the library website, or visit either campus in person, to learn more! Click on the link below to visit the website.
Oswego Public Library SD308 Resources

Course Recommendations for Next Year Viewable in Tyler 5/3 - 5/10
Student course recommendations and elective selections will be viewable in TylerSIS from May 3rd - May 10th. Please check to ensure your student has all core courses listed (Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies) and electives selected for next year. If you are missing a core class from your recommendations (Math, ELA, Science, Social Studies), please contact your counselor.
We are missing many elective selections from some in-person and remote students. Your student will have the opportunity to pick back-up electives next Wednesday through their ELA class.
If your student is taking Geometry/Honors Geometry at Oswego East, the math class will not show on this recommendation list. ALL Murphy students who will attend Geometry/Honors at Oswego East have been confirmed as having their correct math course in at this time - there is no need to email your counselor for confirmation.
Directions: Log into TylerSIS; click Course Requests on the left hand side, Courses that have been recommended by your teachers for next year will appear on the next screen.
Note: the courses in Tyler are not your student’s actual schedule for next year. Schedules are not finalized until August. Additionally, elective selections that are in Tyler are not guaranteed; while we try to accommodate every student’s top choices, unfortunately, we are not always able to do so. Counselors will be collecting back-up elective choices (in the event that top choices do not work out) via Google Forms during this week (5/3-5/10).
Summer Counselor-In-Training Opportunity through Oswegoland Park District!
Students Entering Grades 7-10 next year: Oswegoland Park District has an opportunity for you to join their team as a counselor-in-training. You will work with Park District staff and assist in leading recreational activities during summer camps, athletic programs and other Park District events.
Questions about this program can be directed to Krista Casanovas, Oswegoland Park District CIT Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications are due by Monday, May 17th. Completed applications can be emailed to email@example.com.
