News From Our Food Service
To all Parents,
First of all, thank you for understanding that we had to move the date for the distribution of the meals to Thursday this week due to the holiday and semester testing. We will have another holiday next month that will force us to change up the normal routine again, but we will make sure that you know in plenty of time how the meal distribution will work. We want to keep to our routine as much as possible.
I thought you might be interested to know that since we started this program in March, we have served 267,106 breakfast meals and 262,488 lunch meals as of Friday during this pandemic. That means that we have served over 1/2 a million FREE meals to children in our community since we went on lock down in March. All those meals are only to children, and they might be in a classroom or they might be at home, but we are making sure that every child can get something to eat.
Below are the links for meals pick up next week. If you know you are going to pick up meals regularly and do not want to fill out the weekly every week, fill out the standing order link just one time, and you are good through Spring break. As always if the times or locations do not work for you, or you miss your pickup, please reach out to our office, and we will work with you to find a time and location that will work for you. 324-2570

Parents and Families of the Helena Public Schools,
The Helena Public Schools are in the process of considering needed changes to our school plans including which phase is most appropriate for our students, employees, families, and community. As we reach the halfway point in the school year, these reconsiderations are necessary especially in light of updated, national guidance that is specific to schools.
As we work to consider these needed changes, we are asking that you provide us with feedback via the below survey. This family specific information will help us better understand how our decisions to date have impacted your family and children. Additionally, as we approach this second semester, we would value your perceptions as to how we need to navigate this school year going forward. We are asking for a single response from each family.
Please know that this information will be utilized by a committee that will be convening shortly to consider needed changes. This committee will be comprised of parents, employees, and Trustee representatives from our district’s Board. This is expected to be a swift process with implementation anticipated in the forthcoming weeks. Please know that we will share any drafted changes for feedback prior to making final recommendations to the Helena Public Schools Board of Trustees.
