SIEC Science Affinity Group
Network. Learn. Grow.
Affinity groups are designed for participants to network with, learn from, and grow with colleagues around a specific learning need. This concept is different from a traditional professional development as it is driven by those involved. Collaboration of this type has been proven to increase the knowledge base of those involved and foster ongoing professional relationships that will continue to grow. The SIEC is proud to offer content specific Affinity Groups for both teachers and principals.
The goal of the Science Affinity Group is to provide the opportunity for science teachers to network with each other and to discuss those topics most important to them. In addition, teachers will mold and decide what future Affinity Group focuses will be and work towards the common goal of creating high-quality learning experiences for their students.
During the Affinity Group Session, participants will:
- Receive mini PD on Content Literacy strategies and Project--Based Learning (October) and mini PD on Building Vocabulary (February)
- Share instructional strategies that resonate and work for your classroom
- Collaborate and network with others in your field
- Use the collaborative inquiry process to determine future needs
We hope that you will join us for the wonderful opportunity.
