Stephen Decatur Elementary April 5, 2019
The Principal's Message
April is such a happy month. The sun is out more frequently, the weather is warmer, and flowers are blooming. Our scholars really enjoy it because we are back outside for recess daily.
As the weather gets better, we are getting busier and busier. Students in grades 3 through 6 are gearing up for the state's ILearn Assessment. We will begin on April 22nd. Please make sure students are getting enough rest and are present everyday.
Speaking of present everyday...Six classrooms have had over 25 days of perfect attendance since January. They have earned extra recess, popsicles, popcorn and a movie, and pizza. They are now going to play a sport against staff members. These staff/student games begin next Friday at 2:00. It should be lots of fun.
Third graders took the IREAD3 assessment before Spring Break. The results are in and will come home on Monday with students. For any students who did not pass this first round, we will offer after school tutoring and summer school. The details will be available for anyone who qualifies.
