ART
This October, students will continue to create different types of LINES in their artworks and practice their fine motor skills (cutting and gluing). We will shift from lines to shapes and learn how both geometric and organic shapes can create people, animals and objects in art. If you have any questions, please email me at: lpennington@rtsd26.org.

LIBRARY
Please continue to keep library books in great shape! Make sure your student returns their book on Wednesdays!
MUSIC
This month in Music we’re starting to explore rhythms! We’ll be beginning our rhythm reading journey by using the syllables of simple words we already know and playing them on our classroom instruments. We’re also continuing our exploration of steady beat every class through movement, singing and games. This month we’ll be recording the Prairie Trails school song for the morning announcements. Cute videos of your chipmunk singing with their classmates will be coming home soon!
Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions: mthompson@rtsd26.org Meghan Thompson

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at evossmiller@rtsd26.org Beth Miller
STEM
This month in STEM classes, students will be learning and observing weather changes, as scientists do! We will be introduced to tools that measure wind speed and direction as well as measure rainfall. Each student will also create their own windsock to use at home as a tool to measure wind! Autumn winds are blowing!
If you have any questions, please reach out to me at jwagner@rtsd26.org.

Opportunities for playdates in the park
- Please feel free to stop by the Prairie Trails playground after school on Friday, October 14 for an informal playdate. You will have the opportunity to meet other parents and your children can play with their Prairie Trails peers.
- A kindergarten parent reached out to me with a great idea, so I thought this would be a great place to share. If you have younger Prairie Trails siblings and are looking for an easy social activity, feel free to meet up at Tamarack Park (just east of Prairie Trails) after drop-off on Wednesday mornings. What a great way for our future Chipmunks to meet each other.
