Cougar Chronicles
August 19, 2022
Dear LSE Family,
We are so excited at LSE! Rooms are finishing up in preparation for all of you. The finishing touches are being put on every surface! This building simply looks amazing. We cannot wait to welcome all of you for Meet Your Teacher Monday evening from 4:00-6:00 pm.
Staff have worked so hard to create a warm, family atmosphere for each child that enters our building. We hope you all take time to meet your child's teacher, meet our staff, join PTA, and send good wishes for a wonderful 2022-2023 school year.
Many people will be here at Meet Your Teacher Night. Nutrition Services will be ready to accept money for lunch accounts, PTA will be here to sign you up for PTA and sell spiritwear, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will be ready with information, and many school staff will be present with information. Feel free to bring any school supplies!
We also encourage parents to stop in the office to run your driver's license through the visitor management system so you will already be in our system when you come to school as a visitor.
Please remember to charge those chromebooks and get a good night's rest Monday evening so we can be ready to learn on Tuesday!
Join our Lee's Summit Elementary Cougar Community Schoology Group with access code J3MR-7673-6W362. You can always reach out to us via email or calling our front office at 816-986-3340.
We are looking forward to a super fabulous year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Tracy Sanders, Principal

News From Your LSE PTA
The PTA is already busy planning events for your family this year. If you need to reach us, please email leessummitelementarypta@gmail.com.
The $10 you spend on your LSE PTA membership goes to support our school, our staff, and most importantly our students! Just a few items PTA helps pay for: field trips, family fun events, Fall & Valentine's Parties, and much much more. Your paid membership supports not only the LSE PTA, but the Missouri PTA and National PTA as well.
Look for us at Meet Your Teacher night and the Back to School BBQ; we'll be selling memberships and spirit wear.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Thank you to our PTA Board Members for the 2022-2023 School Year!

LSE School Safety Considerations
- If students forget something at home, there will be an "Oops" table outside on the front porch. Familes can leave the item on the table with a sticker on the item - student's name/grade/teacher and we will deliver the item to the classroom.
- If a student is tardy or brought to school late - the adult dropping off the student will call the office at 816-986-3340 - state the reason for being late. The student will be welcomed into LSE.
- Visitors and Volunteers will be allowed back this year after the first two weeks of school. Lunchroom visitors will be welcomed to eat lunch with their child.
- No visitors are allowed on the playground or past the cafeteria without prior approval.
- Volunteers must go through district training and be vetted through our vistor management system.
- All visitors will be greeted through the intercom system on the porch.
- All visitors and volunteers must enter and exit through the front door on Green Street, check in through the office, and wear a visible badge.
- Please SLOW Down through our school zones on Green and 2nd Street!
- Please Stop and wait for our crossing guards and be courteous of our school buses.
- Parents of Car Riders can not line up until after 3:45 - we have students on the playground until 3:45.
- Please DO NOT drop students off in the middle of the street on Wilson or Green Street - we can not see them around cars and buses - that is what our car rider line is for!
