SHADY GROVE MATTERS WEEKLY UPDATE
February 11, 2024
THE ADMINISTRATOR'S CORNER
Greetings Shady Grove families! Iโd like to start off my message with thanking you all for your continued partnership this school year. The safety, and security of our students is our top priority, which is why I would like to reiterate our cell phone policy: Students are not allowed to be on their cell phones while they are at Shady Grove Middle School. We ask that you continue to assist us in monitoring your studentโs use of social media and group chats at home. This week we have a variety of homeroom lessons beginning with our Black Lives Matter at School Week of Action and Lunar New Year 2024. Our Boyโs Basketball team will be at home this Thursday against Argyle Middle School, while our Lady Timberwolves will be away. This is our second to last game for the basketball season and we are so proud of our Basketball teams. That is all for now #TimberwolfNation! Wishing you all a fantastic week!
~Ms. Merino

SGMS MEDIA NEWS
Dear 7th grade Families -
We wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you to the parents and family members that joined us at Finance Park. It was an incredible experience for our 7th graders to be at Finance Park and to have family volunteers supporting the storefronts made it so special for students and staff. We appreciate your support for our school community. We also want to extend a big thank you to all the 7th grade families for submitting permission slips, packing lunches, and making this experience possible! It takes a village to raise our children, and we are so grateful for our SGMS village.
When students returned to school the next day, they wrote down their takeaways from the experience. This might make for a good conversation starter at the dinner table or your next one-on-one with your child.
If you have any feedback on the trip, please let us know here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSflfc38AYkCwiHK1XnQW0QFRSLwFuJjqUWk4lXHyMqjjjV1_Q/viewform?usp=sf_link
