Staying Home from School with COVID-like Symptoms
Following the illness decision tree guidelines set out by Central District Health when operating in the red category, if a student is sent home with COVID-like symptoms such as fever of 100.4 or higher, loss of smell or taste, chills, new or unusual headache, nausea/vomiting/diarrhea, cough, muscle aches, sore throat, shortness of breath, fatigue, congestion/runny nose, or you keep your child at home with symptoms, the following three are the only options for returning to in-person learning.
- Follow up with your health care provider and get a note verifying an alternative diagnosis
- Receive a negative test for COVID-19 accompanied by a note verifying safe return to school
- Stay at home for 10 days following the start of symptoms
No Spectators at Athletic Competition, Middle School Makeup Games Cancelled
Central District Health moved West Ada School District into category red yesterday. Transitioning into red operations means there are adjustments to competition, as outlined in our pandemic game management plans.
Makeup football games scheduled for the week of October 19 are cancelled for middle schools.
While high school athletics will continue, in accordance with our game management plan, spectators may not attend events on West Ada School District property beginning October 19. The SIC Volleyball District tournaments will not allow spectators beginning October 16. State competitions held elsewhere may have different options for spectators.
Please contact your coach or athletic director with school-specific questions.
