Dear St. Jude School Families:


Below is the link to schedule conferences for your child(ren) on Sunday, November 11, 2018, from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The online scheduling tool allows families to register with various teachers and support staff in one fast, convenient location.

  • Preschool 3 and Preschool 4 are mandatory with their teacher
  • Kindergarten through Grade 2 are mandatory with their homeroom teacher
  • Grades 3 through 8 are at parent/teacher request. If a teacher needs to see you for a conference, they will contact you by Monday, November 5, 2018



Please note: Parents will need to register each child. Once you have completed registration, you will receive a follow-up email with the link to schedule the conferences for that child.


We ask that you schedule your conferences with teachers by Thursday, November 8, 2018, until 4:00 p.m.

Canned Food Drive

The St. Jude Annual Helping Hands Thanksgiving Collection is underway. This year we will have an A Homeroom versus B Homeroom contest. The overall classroom collecting the most cans will win a Marco Pizza lunch party. Here is the wish list from our friends at Helping Hands:

We are testing a hot lunch program offered by Cuyahoga Vending. Every Friday we will provide one hot lunch prepared selection. The menu for November 9, includes chicken tenders with tater tots, green beans and applesauce for $3.50. Good Luck St. Jude Cheerleaders!

Please join us to cheer on our St. Jude Jaguars Cheerleaders in our CYO Cheer Competition! The competition is on Sunday, November 4th at St. Joseph Academy (3470 Rocky River Drive Cleveland, OH 44111). The doors open to spectators at 1:00 and the competition begins at 1:30.

COLD WEATHER IS COMING. Please make sure your child is coming to school with a coat, hat and gloves (when snow starts and boots) We go outside as long as the temperature feels like it is 20 degrees and above.

Title 1-A note from Mrs. McFarland

Title 1 is a federally funded program that offers additional instruction in Reading and Math for children attending St. Jude that reside in the Elyria City School District. Mrs. McFarland provides the service to those who qualify. She will be available during conferences on Sunday, November 11th. Please email her at jmcfarland@stjudejaguars.org if you would like to speak with her on that day.

Gift Card Program

Did you know you can use our gift cards to pay your Kohl's bill AND earn Tuition Credit. Go to ShopWithScrip.com and sign up using St. Jude code 7A5739E6835L. You may place an order for physical gift cards monthly. Online orders are due by noon the first Monday of the month; then you send a check thru school made out to St. Jude Certificate Program in an envelope marked "GiftCard Program" or pay by PrestoPay; then orders are sent home with your child on Friday. Next online order is going to be placed on Monday, December 3rd. If you have PrestoPay, you can print your gift cards at home or pull them up on your phone. You can also purchase gift cards at the rectory Mon-Fri 8:00-Noon, 12:30-4:00. Any questions on getting started in the program, contact Michelle at stjudecertprog@yahoo.com.

Last Call for the Elyria Catholic Placement Test

Elyria Catholic will give the High School Placement Test on Saturday, November 3rd from 8:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Students can register for either test by contacting Terry Ziegelmeyer, EC Admissions Director, at ziegelmeyer@elyriacatholic.com. Students may also register the day of the test. In addition, contact Terry Ziegelmeyer if you are interested in registering to shadow at Elyria Catholic, or if you would like to schedule a tour.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides free tax-filing help to those who need it most? We are looking for compassionate and friendly individuals to join our volunteer team this upcoming tax season. We’ll provide the training and support to help you learn new skills, and you’ll get a great feeling from helping someone else. Training is in January and the tax season runs from February 1st through April 15th.
