Wrangler Weekly

Great Teachers and Staff!
We want to hear YOUR good news!
Do you know of a teacher that goes above and beyond for their students? Maybe a volunteer who embodies what it means to "be the one?" What about a student that always goes the extra mile? Tell us here... bit.ly/3FIgpko #LCISDProud
Discovery Dome this past Friday, 1/21
All of our Williams Wranglers had the incredible experience of the Discovery Dome, brought to our library by the Houston Museum of Natural Science. It was just amazing! Be sure to ask your student what they learned and what inspired them!
2nd-5th grade students went first into the past with a riveting film about Apollo 11. Then, they went to the future with a look at what a human habitat on Mars could look like one day.
You can see pictures of the Discovery Dome on our campus Facebook page:

Beanstack Challenge!
4th grade is now in the lead with our Beanstack Challenge! Get your Wrangler reading and logging their minutes in Beanstack!
From January 1 to January 31, Williams will participate in Beanstack’s Fifth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, “Read for a Better World,” sponsored by Lerner Publishing Group. We challenge our students to read at least 20 minutes every day during the month of January – more is better! - and keep track of their reading on Beanstack, found in ClassLink. Thousands of other libraries and schools across the nation are joining in too, for a chance at winning prizes including book collections, signed books, and virtual author visits. Happy reading, Wranglers!
The Great Kindness Challenge - from Ms. Pena
Dear Wranglers ,
We are proud to announce that Williams has joined The Great Kindness Challenge 2022. During the month of January, we will Erase the Hate with acts of kindness! The word “hate” will be displayed on a school wide bulletin board and our objective is to cover (“erase”) the entire word by performing random acts of kindness. We are a No Place for Hate recognized campus, and The Great Kindness Challenge event will provide us with an opportunity to create a community of unity and kindness!
Attached you will find a list of random acts of kindness. We encourage all Wranglers to “Pay It Forward” by completing five acts of kindness over the next two weeks. Your child will decorate a heart for every act of kindness they have completed. It will then be added to our event bulletin board. There will be paper hearts located in the front office for any additional family members that wish to participate in The Great Kindness Challenge. Stay tuned for an update on our Erase the Hate with Kindness bulletin board!
