PSAT and M-STEP Testing

All 8th grade students will take the state-required PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) on Wednesday, April 12th. There will be a reading, a writing and two math portions on this test. The M-STEP (Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress) will begin in April as well. 8th graders will test in Social Studies on April 18th and 19th and Science on April 25th – 27th. 7th graders will test in ELA on April 18th – 21st and Math on April 25th – 28th. Student attendance on these days is incredibly important. Please make every effort to have your student at school on time on testing days. Students are able to concentrate best when they’ve had sufficient sleep and eaten breakfast.

Q3 report cards will be sent home with students, on Friday, April 14th.

8th Grade Exploration Day

Eighth graders were asked to choose their top three choices (Kirkland will try to put students in their top two) from the following list to explore. Students will be bringing home permission slips this week. We will be taking all of our 8th grade students to Kirkland, in Grayling, on April 21st.
