Interviewees
We decided to use a variety of ages, to get different perspectives on what people thought of their mobile phones, and what they mean to them.
Recces
We took pictures of ourselves conducting and setting up the interviews, for evidence.
Interviews
The mise-en-scene of this interview was in the upper common room, we had the interviewee on the right side of the frame, and ensured her eye line was towards the interviewer, not the camera. The interviewee is holding her phone, to anchor the subject.
The mise-en-scene of this interview was in Mr Reid's office, you can also see his phone, which anchors the subject. He was placed on the left hand of the frame.
The mise-en-scene of this interview was in the dance office. Again, you can see Miss Chapel's phone to anchor the subject. She is positioned on the right side of the frame.
We ensured to alternate sides of the interviewee, as this breaks up the interview, and makes the narrative easier to follow.
Editing Screen Grabs
Firstly, the interview of Miss Chapel's interview was inserted. The questions asked where cut out using the razor tool. This left us with the responses we needed so they could follow along with the narrative.
Once Miss Chapels interview was separated using the selection tool, we inserted cutaways over the end of her answers using the import option. This allowed us to hide any jump cuts so it was smoother, and be able to add the other interviews.
We repeated this for the other interviewees answers, and joined them together using the selection tool and added more cutaways. We then imported graphics and placed it over Mr Reid's interview, as it was relevant to the answer he gave. We re-sized it so it would fit into the frame.
Once the documentary was finished, we added credits for our group, interviewees and the music that was used.
We then added music over the credits as well as the introduction by going to file, import. We then selected the music we wanted to use from the dialogue box that appeared.
Lastly, we rendered the product by going to file, export. We chose the format we wanted to export on.
