Symbols
Symbols are very important because they tell what time of year it is in the catholic church. They have symbols for each time of the year and each event in when it is. They are all different colours and shapes and they are all different sizes. They are a sacred thing in the church and are very important.
A Dove
A dove is a symbol of new life and peace.
A cross with people around it
It means that the world comes together and sharing
Bread and wine
The bread and wine used during Eucharist. It has been blessed and it becomes the body and blood of Christ.
Star of David
- The star of David is probably the most well known of the Jewish symbols
- It is recognised as a six pointed star formed by two interlocking triangles
- The symbol is thought to have originated from the shield carried by David to slay Goliath
- The star of David appears on the flag of Israel, known to followers of the Jewish faith as the promised land. It is without doubt one of the most important Jewish symbols
