RMS Knightly News
Week of January 4, 2022
Hello RMS Knights and Families
Our January's Honor the Castle theme is “Finishing the Semester Strong”. This week’s mindset message for the week of January 4th states "It is not how you start the race or where you are during the race...it is how you cross the finish line that will matter".

I hope that our RMS Knights and families are enjoying a great holiday break. I also wish that our RMS family had time to relax and recharged as we prepare to finish first semester strong. Our RMS staff is grateful for our partnership in our Knights' learning and growth. We look forward to our Knights' positive energy and dedication to their classes as we return on Tuesday, January 4th.

CTE Expo at FHS for 8th grade students on January 4th, January 5th, January 7th and January 10th
When we return from break, our 8th grade Knights will have the opportunity to learn more about the Career Tech Education (CTE) classes at Fraser High School.
On Tuesday, January 4th and Wednesday, January 5th, your child will walk over to Fraser High School with their 8th grade Social Studies classes and explore the various CTE classes and pathways during that designated hour.
On Friday, January 7th and Monday January 10th, your child will again walk over to Fraser High School with their 8th grade Science classes to take a deeper dive into their top two CTE Pathways classes that interest your Knight.
These opportunities are being provided to better support our students when they complete Fraser High School scheduling, which takes place in February. More information will be shared in the coming weeks regarding high school scheduling and preparation.
If you would like for your child to OPT OUT of this opportunity to attend Fraser High School, please complete the following form by Tuesday, January 4th by 7:30am. You do not need to do anything if you are allowing your child to attend these dates.
Opt out of CTE visit at FHS on January 4th, 5th, 7th and 10th
Only complete if you do not want your 8th grade knight to attend.
Lunch and Learn Opportunities for 8th Graders
What is a Lunch ‘n Learn:
Lunch ‘n Learns are designed to allow students to choose a career pathway that will align their skills, interests and values with career opportunities after high school.
A Lunch ‘n Learn is an opportunity for interested Knights to spend their lunch hour eating lunch and learning about one of the Career Technical Education programs at Fraser High School.
Lunch as always is provided from the cafeteria; however, our Knights can choose to bring a lunch if you prefer.
Our 8th graders received an email from John Murray, FHS Career Navigator, with more information and a link to register for the following Lunch and Learn opportunities:
- Culinary Lunch ‘n Learn - Wednesday, January 12th
The Week in Pictures will return the week of Jan. 11th

This time is monitored by Mr. Julian or Mrs. Skladanowski. Upon arrival - students will sign-in and will record what they are working on.
