Math
Mrs. Close's Class - Another busy week! We finished Topic C this week. The kids have learned quite a few strategies to compare fractions. Some of those techniques are more efficient than others. Please ask your child about his/her favorite strategy! We are on to Topic D! In this new section of the unit, the kids will be adding and subtracting fractions. Corrected Exit Tickets up through and including lesson #15 are due by Friday, February 17th. After that date, grades will not be adjusted for the upcoming report card. In addition, all i-Ready Math Challenges are due next Friday too. No late challenges accepted!
Music Ensembles
Kids who play instruments will only need to bring them on Wednesday this week. Lessons and ensembles fall on the same day!
Chorus will meet for the first time on Tuesday during activity period.
ELA
PAWS - No new assignment for this week. The kids will be completing an on-demand writing task similar to that of a PAWS assignment. It's time to check in to see how the kids are progressing at an independent level.
Picture Book Friday - Ainsley entertained us on Friday! See her picture below.
Much of the past couple weeks have been devoted to individual reading assessments where kids read to me and then we discuss the text. Though time consuming, it sure has been awesome to experience the growth since the fall!
