WPMS Remote Learning
Team Catamount - May 21, 2021
Last Week of School
Next week is the last week of school. If students have completed all PFAs in all classes and have 70% or above for their average cog skill/unit scores in all four classes Monday will be the last day. Otherwise we will have a full day on Tuesday and Wednesday will end at 11:00. On Tuesday and Wednesday should log into the afternoon SDL Google Meet for the entire day. Attendance will be taken.
Chromebook returns will be on Thursday from 9-12 in the school library. Please return both the chromebook and the charger.
If you ordered a yearbook, you may pick it up when you return the chromebook and charger.
Positive recognitions this week belong to all students for successfully working on the unprecedented Remote Team this year!

Attendance is Required - And Important!
Please remember that attendance is required for all classes including enrichment. Only afternoon SDL is optional for attendance. Being present in class means that the camera is on, the student is responding to questions and engaging in discussions. Students may also email or message the teacher with questions or if they need assistance. Students should be working on school work until 3:15.
If your student needs to miss a class, please call the Middle School at 686-2200 to report the absence. The administration is taking a closer look at attendance and sending out reminders to parents if students are not in class. Please talk to your student about the importance of being in class on time and actively participating.
Enrichments 2020/2021

Information about the SDL Hub
Afternoon SDL is Required
- The school day ends at 3:15. If students choose to not attend afternoon SDL, they should still be working at home.
- Core teachers are available during this time for all students. Teachers can answer questions for both PFAs and projects. Students may take content assessments if they have the proper teacher approval.
- A schedule for workshops will be coming soon. Students will be able to attend specific workshops for PFAs on specific days. Some students may receive invites if needed. If your student receives an invite they are strongly encouraged to attend.
Why are checkpoints important?
Green = good to go, continue as your teacher instructs you to
Yellow = slow down, you need to fix something on this checkpoint
Red = stop, you did not complete this checkpoint or misunderstood the instructions
Classroom Expectations
Behavior in the Google Meet is just as important as good behavior in the classroom. As teachers we appreciate questions and appropriate discussion during our lessons. In order to establish a successful learning environment on the remote team we have created a list of Google Meet expectations for the students. Feel free to review this list with your student:
- Camera/Mute on
- Professional comments in chat only
- School Dress Code
- No food on camera
- Beverages are ok
- No energy drinks per school rules - save them for after school
- Proper sitting position
- Check email once a day
- Chores such as pet sitting should not be done during the school day
