Superintendent Updates - November 9, 2020
Let's Talk About Safety
At our most recent board meeting on Thursday, November 5, we introduced our "Safe. Clean. Ready!" (SCR) plan that details the actions in place to prepare our schools for students. Over the course of many months, we have taken the recommendations and requirements of federal, state, and county public health officials and incorporated them into this plan.
My goal is to present each layer of SCR and the steps we are taking to make it come to life in a simple and clear manner. This week, the focus is on safety. Over the next 2 weeks, I will discuss cleanliness and readiness.
If you would like to see the complete document, you can read the "Safe. Clean. Ready!" plan here or by visit our Safe. Clean. Ready! website. Thank you for your patience as we work to protect everyone and for your continuous support!

Steps Towards Ensuring Safety.
- Face Coverings. All staff, students, and visitors are required to wear a face covering (unless a documented medical exemption applies and an alternative is used, as outlined in public health orders).
- Distancing. All staff, students, and visitors must maintain six (6) foot distancing. Each school may deploy strategies to minimize congestion at drop-off and pick-up times. Before visiting a school office, please call ahead for an appointment.
- Screening. Screening is conducted before students, visitors and staff may enter the school. Screening includes a check-in concerning fever, cough, shortness of breath and any other symptoms the person may be experiencing.
- Hygiene. Everyone must practice safe hygiene while at school or work, which includes hand washing and good respiratory etiquette. Learn more about proper hand washing here.
