Poetry Out Loud
What an incredible event! In the age of digital distractions, it was incredibly refreshing and inspiring to see our students excel in the art of poetry and to see our student body excitedly support each poet as they recited their work.
Thank you to Mrs. Crystal Rienick for all of her efforts to bring in the outside judges and to organize this incredibly unique and wonderful event to VCHS!
Emilie Roach, Ailani Montes, Aspen Reiche, Riley Carlson, Kendra Weaver, Alexa Brown, Emma Pinkerton, Alexa Rochholz

Cardiac Risk Assessments and Heart Screenings for Teens
As we head into a new year let’s be sure their hearts are ready! The Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation is hosting a free heart screening for our community youth ages 12 to 25 to find the 1 in 300 at risk for sudden cardiac arrest from an undetected heart condition. This year’s event is at Orange Glen High School in Escondido on Sunday, February 5 between 9:30 am to 2:30 pm. The screening includes a cardiac risk assessment, an ECG, a consultation with cardiologist and if indicated, a limited echocardiogram. It’s free, painless and takes less than an hour. Limited spots available so register now.

SDCOE's Virtual Wellness Center and Resource Guide Library
SDCOE is filled with experts in their field who have a heart for making a difference in their community. That's why we've created a Resource Guide Library filled with timely, relevant, and vetted resources and tools to support educators and parents when they need it most.
Our students want and need to talk about what's happening in their world in a safe space. Whether it's the war in Ukraine, a shooting at a school or in the community, fentanyl awareness, or needing emotional support for transitions in their lives, SDCOE's resources are designed to help.
