Ohlone Family Connection
August 19, 2020
There are some amazing things happening in our classrooms! I popped into a number of classrooms today and was overjoyed to hear students sharing their name stories, discussing growth mindset, making self-portraits, finding out what they have in common with others, and sharing their mathematical thinking in a kind and supportive environment.
Your children are learning the lay of the land and adjusting to our new classroom landscape. You are, too! Remember, it is Day 3. We will find our groove and the technology pieces will soon be under our belt. In the meantime, communicate with your child's teacher. At Ohlone, the student-teacher-parent partnership is one of our core values. Your child's teacher is your first and best resource for resolving a classroom concern. They want to help! Let them know about your child's experience and any technical challenges you are experiencing. We will work through this together and provide you and your child with the support they need.
I have included the tech links from my last communication plus a few more. We are offering another Tech Tutorial with John this Friday, 3:30-4:30pm. If you are not able to make this time and need help, please email John, our Assistant Principal, at email@example.com, for a 1:1 appointment.
Hang in there, stay in communication with your child's teacher, and know that the first week of school is about the social-emotional connection, a few bumps, and a lot of fine-tuning. We want to ensure that everyone has access and is engaged in the learning. Let's remember to treat each other with grace and assume positive intentions as we navigate these waters together. Thank you for your support on the home front. We could not do this without you!
