How does sports in Brazil's culture affect the people?
Futbol affects the people because of Brazilian's passionate love for the sport. If there is an important international match or world cup match, that day the kids would get lucky and school would get cancelled to watch the game. The adults also luck and businesses close for the day too. Edson Arantes do Nascimento, which most people call Pele is refereed to as the king of futbol or the futbol god. One international game, Pele went to Africa to play during the middle of a war. The people in Africa stopped the was for three days to watch him play. Brazil won 5 world cups and just hosted the 2014 fifa world cup coming 4th after a devastating loss to Germany. Almost every boy plays futbol and has enjoyed it for 115 years since it was brought to its home, Brazil.

How does the Amazon Basin, Amazon River, and the Amazon Rain Forest affect the people that live there?
The Amazon Rain Forest is used by the Native Americas to help them survive.They hunted, fished, and grew variety of small crops in gardens there. Most settled a living on subsistence farms, making only enough for their family's to survive. The Amazon river affects the people too. First, many tribe used the river as transportation before cars and electric boats were invented.Also, it is used for farming.The farmers would plant their crops near the river, and when it overflows it gives the plants water. But if the river floods the crops can get destroyed. Last is you can fish to get food in the river.
Why does one - fifth of Brazil's people live in poverty even though Brazil has an amazing economy?
One reason us many Brazilian cities are surrounded by favelas, or slum areas. More people move to these areas because they have no money and are searching for a job in factories. The government has tried to clean up these areas, but more people have no money for housing so they move there. While Brazil's economy is very strong because of mining, logging, and is the worlds number one coffee producer, this destroys the land and forest.
When did the Native Americans arrive in Brazil, and what were there lifes like?
Native Americans have been in Brazil fir twelve thousand years. In their thoughts, their purpose in life was to serve their gods. They did many prayers and ritual dances. The living condition was bad, with most people as farmers. The men hunted while the women took care of the children and the house. The Indigenous were very skilled hunters and were very good warriors.
