Good Evening Placerita Families…
Welcome to the last week before Spring Break! We made it through the month of March and April is here at the end of the week. Remember, after Spring break is over the rest of the year goes really fast. We have a lot of different things happening in April and May so be prepared to be busy. Don’t forget there is no school next week April 4-8.
ASB Applications
ASB Applications for next year will be posted this week. If your students is interested in applying have them see Ms. Schultz in Room 13 for information. There will be a meeting at Brunch tomorrow for current 7th Graders.
School Site Council
This Fall we will have a couple openings on our Site Council. If you would be interested in running, (These are elected positions.), please complete the form HERE and we will contact you about the process. We will have elections after Spring Break.
Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Input Needed
If you would like to give some input on how we can help students better in some specific areas the District would love your input. See the links below to share your ideas. Thanks so much for helping.

COVID Test Distribution
We have some COVID tests available and we are going to have some distribution times this week. Even if you have picked up a test before you will be able to pick up more this week. The test distribution will occur this week (3/28/2022 -4/1/2022). Families will be able to pick up tests from 7:00am-8:00am and from 2:35-4:00pm every day. Please take advantage of this opportunity. We are also getting more tests that we will be distributing in a few weeks.
Open House
Our Open House will be on Tuesday, April 26th with activities starting at 5:30 PM and going through 7:30 PM. We will have a color run, performance demonstrations from our music and dance department as well as a variety of other activities. You will get more information after Spring Break.

¡Bienvenidos a la última semana antes de las vacaciones de primavera! Hemos pasado el mes de marzo y abril está aquí al final de la semana. Distribución de pruebas COVID
Tenemos algunas pruebas COVID disponibles y vamos a tener algunos horarios de distribución esta semana. There are several reasons that each student is required to wear their IDs during school each day. School Check-in each morning, identification for safety purposes and lunch purchases are a few of the reasons that students will need to have their personal IDs on them at all times just like last year. They will not be required during PE or during time that students are participating in activities where there would be a safety concern like in wood shop.

Hello Placerita Families! We have some very exciting and important news for our community.
The new Student Care Line for Placerita will be broadened to include mental health and wellness concerns. If you are struggling or know someone who is struggling, the Student Care Line will make early intervention possible, allowing for small problems to be handled before they become big problems.
If you are a student, parent, or community member with a concern that needs attention from an administrator at Placerita please text us here. You can send a text message to (661) 282-7522. All text messages received will be forwarded to our former Text-A-Tip line. We now have a new reporting system for our students and their families to use to share a concern about another student's well-being. This reporting system is called the Student Care Line.
Over the last several years, the William S. Hart Union High School District has placed an emphasis on student wellness. Knowing that a student who feels emotionally supported is more successful, the District set out to open Wellness Centers on each of our campuses, with the first of those opening in August of 2019. Now the District is looking to expand this effort even further by taking the existing Text-A-Tip line and re-branding it as the new Student Care Line, providing a more comprehensive function.
Text-A-Tip has been used by students, staff and families to report something out of the ordinary. With the goal being “If you see something, say something"; Text-A-Tip was there to report if someone was wanting to hurt themselves or others, or even if there was the possibility of someone committing a crime.
The new Student Care Line will be broadened to include mental health and wellness concerns. If you are struggling or know someone who is struggling, the Student Care Line will make early intervention possible, allowing for small problems to be handled before they become big problems. Cause for concern might be indicated by:
Trouble controlling emotions
Withdrawal from friends and usual activities
Feelings of rejection or solitude
Feeling constantly disrespected
Frequent loss of temper
Increased risk-taking behavior
Talk of suicide or loss of hope
Self-harm
Declining school performance
Students and families are at their best when their emotional well-being is supported. Please join us in our commitment to this effort by using our Student Care Line when you need it.

¡Hola familias de Placerita! Tenemos algunas noticias muy emocionantes e importantes para nuestra comunidad.
La nueva Línea de Atención al Estudiante de Placerita se ampliará para incluir problemas de salud mental y bienestar. Si usted está luchando o conoce a alguien que está luchando, la Línea de Atención al Estudiante hará posible la intervención temprana, permitiendo que los pequeños problemas sean manejados antes de que se conviertan en grandes problemas.
