5th Grade Virtual Finale

What a celebration it was! It may not have been the way it has been in the past, but our 5th graders were definitely celebrated...VIRTUALLY! Thank you to our 5th grade teachers, Mrs. Tolar, Mrs. Gist, and Ms. Vosough for ensuring our 5th graders had an AMAZING Finale.

Student material pick up and return information

  • If you were unable to pick up your students items from Parsons this week, please call the school and make an appointment to pick up materials the week of May 26th.
  • If your child has medication in the clinic it MUST be picked up by Tuesday, May 26th. Our school resource officers will be collecting all prescription pills and seizure syringes to dispose of based on Board Policy.

Virtual Move Up Day

Virtual Move Up Day was such a success! I know the kiddos and the teachers enjoyed being able to connect for the first time as a class. This is a special tradition at Parsons Elementary and we were not going to let the Corona Virus stop us. Move Up Day is just the beginning of a year long school journey and we all know how important it is for our kiddos to connect with one another and with their teacher.

Yearbooks arrived today!

If you purchased a yearbook, PTA worked diligently to place them in each student's 'pick up' bag with their other classroom items on Wednesday. The PTA will be in the car rider lane Wednesday, May 27th, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm for you to drive through and get your yearbook if you picked up your student's bag of materials on Tuesday, May 19th. Please place a sheet of paper with your child's name and teacher name in the passenger window for easy yearbook distribution.


If you are unable to pick up your child's yearbook at the scheduled time, PTA will ensure your student receives their yearbook when they return to school in August.

We are excited to announce our continued fundraising partnership with 1st Day School Supplies. These supply kits have been designed by our teachers for each grade level. As parents, your time is very valuable and this service allows you to avoid the hassle and aggravation of shopping for each item separately. You also get exactly what your teacher needs with just the click of a button. More than 230 students took advantage of this service last year, so don't miss out this year to help make your life simpler. first lego league robotics club coming soon...

Attention all rising 4th and 5th graders...Do you want to learn how to program and make new friends while building with Legos? Join the Parsons Elementary FIRST LEGO League!


But it isn’t just building legos, you will be a part of the FIRST LEGO League, a nation-wide organization that encourages students to engage in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) activities in a fun way. We will be researching, building, creating, and problem-solving. Teams are also judged on the FIRST LEGO League core values like teamwork and friendly competition.

GA After School Program at Parsons!

GASP! is a safe, fun & affordable after school option coming to Parsons ES this school year. Held right here at our school, there is no daycare van ride. GASP! provides a healthy snack, homework help, and non-stop, organized, fun activities for our kiddos Monday - Friday until 6:30 pm. Only $55/week! Kindergarten Online Registration

WHO:

Rising kindergarten children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2020 and their parents or guardians


WHAT:

Register for the 2020-21 school year


WHEN:

Beginning April 7th, complete online registration on the Parsons website. Once we have reopened, we will plan activities to welcome and introduce our new kindergartners to Parsons Elementary. Please check our website for updates on these activities.


WHERE:

Visit the website to register online. If you’re not sure if your child will attend Parsons, visit the county's "School Look-up" online at GCPS SchoolLocator. Be careful, Zillow is not always correct!


WHY:

Completing online registration will help your child’s teacher be ready to welcome your new kindergartner on the first day of school which is Wednesday, August 5, 2020.


HOW:

New this year, much of the registration process, including the uploading of documents needed for registration, will be completed online. Most document attachments (PDF, JPG, DOC, PNG, etc.) are compatible. The file-size limit is 2 MB. Families that are unable to obtain the required immunization and/or screening documents due to the COVID-19 situation will be given additional time to obtain those documents, but should go ahead and begin the online registration process.
