Scientific Revolution
Greg N. 5th
What was the change?
The scientific revolution was a new way to look at the natural world. It also questioned old beliefs.
Who are the people associated with the change?
Galileo Galilei
Galileo's discoveries with the telescope revolutionized astronomy forever. He shattered Aristotle's theory.
Galileo although very smart he was sentenced to house arrest for questioning the churches beliefs.
Isaac Newton
Isaac Newton was a great English astronomer. He is still well known today for Newton's law of gravity. there were three laws.
Johannes Kepler
He was an German astronomer. And he continued a man's work by the name of Tycho Brahe. Kepler found his ideas to be true and that instead of orbits the planets have elliptical orbits he also found that mathematically the planets revolve around the sun.
How did the change impact society at the time?
Astronomy changed society heavily it gave everybody a new way to look at the earth around them. It even questioned old beliefs including those of the church.
How is that change evidenced in today's modern society?
It gave us something to go by so we can create more and continue their legacy. It just goes to show because even back then they invented a vaccine for chicken pox. But it did give them a higher chance to catch cow pocks. And now we have medicine that allows us to live for an extra thirty years or so in conclusion we wouldn't be here if it weren't for discoveries like these.
