Mustang Messages Newsletter
Chehalem Elementary Newsletter- April 16, 2021
Things continue to go smoothly as we have about half of our students participating in Hybrid model and half continuing in CDL. Thank you for all you have done to make is such a successful transition.
Middle School and High School students begin classes next week on Thursday in Hybrid. Be aware that our bus timing for hybrid students in the morning and afternoon might be slightly affected because of this. They run high school routes before ours and middle school after ours. Therefore if they are late on their high school route for one reason or another it can transfer to making our buses late too. We do our best to send a school messenger if a bus will be more than 15 minutes late so you don't worry about your children. It would be sent by text. Buses have been on schedule so far so hopefully that will continue.
Tomorrow is a grading day. That means no school for students.
Looking forward to full school days next year. There is no plan to offer a CDL option next year other than the Flex Online program. It is a program offered through the district and is a completely online school.
Yellow forms were sent home last week for dental sealants. Today was the first day of sealants being applied and April 30th will be the second. You may continue to return your forms if you are interested. It is FREE and very helpful in the prevention of cavities. If you are a CDL family and want the sealants please complete the form and return it to the office. The office will call you to schedule a time after 11:30 on April 30th.
Our hybrid students, will bring home forms that offer the opportunity for COVID testing to be performed at school This would only be for hybrid students who might be showing symptoms of COVID. The test kits should be arriving next week. With the rising number of cases lately it might be good to have the permission slip on file. Students perform the swab themselves with instruction from the health assistant.
Let's all enjoy our last few weeks of school. If you have any questions or concerns please contact your child's teacher or the front office.

This is available for students who remained in CDL (Hybrid students will be checking out during the school day once a week).
Atención: ¡Nuevo día y hora de libros en la acera! Ahora realizaré mis libros en la acera los miércoles de 4:00 pm a 6:00 pm. Need Volunteers to Help with Meal Prep at Elementary Schools
There is a need for parent/community volunteers to help with meal prep at all elementary schools. The volunteer shifts would be 1 – 2 hours in the morning to help with bagging up fruit, vegetables, or frozen entrees. Proposed hours are 8 – 10 am for early start schools or 9 – 11 am for regular start schools. Volunteers can be used every day of the week including Wednesdays. Elementary schools will coordinate for volunteers and front office staff can access a list of cleared volunteers through the district's volunteer management software Better Impact.
Please call the office if you are interested in volunteering for this.
