Tarvin Times

December 10, 2021

Trailblazers,

In order to provide more time for transitions, we have adjusted the time for third-grade, fourth-grade, and 5th-grade parties on Dec. 16th from 10:30 starting time to 10:45. If you would like to join us, complete this form: https://forms.gle/heRCQBKfnrUrBA1E7 for easy entry. Excited to celebrate with everyone.

Reminder: Wednesday, Dec. 15th is a normal scheduled day, and Friday, Dec. 17th is an early release time at 10:30 AM for PreK 3 and 11:40 AM for all other students. Please note the earlier time.

Together in Learning,

Lost and Found

We have lots of lost items that need to find their owner. If your child has lost an item, remind them to look in the lost and found located in the hallway in the cafeteria. It is also helpful to write your child's name in their belongings so we can get them back to them.

December Choice Board

I wanted to let you know that I've updated our Choice Board. http://bit.ly/tarvinlibguide

It has an assortment of reading and activities for students to do throughout the month and while on vacation. I will be going over this Choice board in this library rotations but I wanted to highlight a couple of areas you also might like to use in the classroom:

1) In the top left there is a small board called "Our Holiday Choice Board Collection". It has links to all kinds of different winter holidays celebrated throughout the world. There are links to stories, research sites, and videos that give students more information about each specific holiday.

2) In the bottom left there is a small board called "The 12 Days of Making" that links two books together that center around STEAM themes. These books are FREE to read throughout the month of December thanks to a super cool librarian Shannon Miller!

3) There are also several coding activities. I will be going over the Hour of Code with all students this month and will get them started in their courses.
