Remote Learning Information
Some time has likely elapsed since the last time you worked your way through the middle school reopening plans, but many of the questions you have regarding remote learning can be answered in one of two places:
1. The middle school reopening plan
2. The district reopening FAQ page that continues to be updated.
We want to assure you that remote learning will look, feel, and be different than during the spring semester this past school year. Our dedicated IHMS staff members are returning next week to continue professional learning that includes how to meet your student's academic and social/emotional well-being in a digital and hybrid environment. We know that we can count on your continued support, your continued solution-oriented problem solving, and your continued engagement throughout the coming weeks. This is what makes our IHMS community so special!

Student Schedules Live Next Week; Inaccurate Until 09/04
In order to start laptop distribution, schedules and rosters need to be “turned on” in the Skyward system by our district ICT team. Normally, this would not be a problem, as those schedules and rosters would have been completed and entered. However, we are working on a different timeline than usual for the start of school. Please Note: Although rosters and schedules may be visible in Skyward in the coming days, please know they are NOT correct and that they could easily change between now and the start of school.
We appreciate your patience as we work through this process to prepare for the upcoming school year.
We are still making last minute adjustments with scheduling and staffing to meet the needs of our students. We are targeting September 4 to have all schedules and rosters ready to go for our first day of school on September 8, 2020.
Please let us know if you have any questions.

2. All students will attend (remotely) beginning Sept. 9, 2020.

Change to Last Name Split - ONLY IF/WHEN IN HYBRID MODEL
If/when we are able to be in a "hybrid" learning model during the fall 2020 school semester, the district last name split for M/T and W/TR in-person instruction days (previously A-L and M-Z), is now split A-Lamb and Lamc-Z. If you have made any determinations (child-care, etc.) based on the originally reported A-L split, please adjust accordingly in the coming weeks. This mainly affects those families where the oldest child's last name is between Lamc - Lz.

Safer for School - Week 2
With the announcement this week that we will begin the 20-21 school year in the remote learning environment, the same information is important to repeat from last week. Updates will be provided as we move closer to hybrid or in-person learning. This takes all of us doing our part.
As we prepare for the school year, please consider using some of the information below to help your student prep for a safe return to school. Our district and our IHMS nurse will be communicating many of these items in the coming weeks, but for the first iteration "Safer for School," please consider recommitting to social distancing measures and best practices. The more we can recommit ourselves to some of these simple practices, the safer our entire community becomes. If you need a refresher on proper social distancing guidelines, please click here for CDC guidance.
